Depends on how many people are going, more hands more guns.
Shooting alone, 1 range bag w/2 pistols & 1 Rifle.

Depends on where I go. If I'm going to shoot trap and sporting clay at Coyote Valley, I'll bring just mine and my wife's shotgun. So 2 long guns in the trunk.

If I'm going to Los Altos, then I'll bring the 2 shotguns plus a pistol. When I get a dedicated HD shotgun, I suppose I'll bring that too to do function check on it and also to cycle the loaded ammo in the tube magazine.

Los Altos is my "bring everything" range because their tin can range basically allow you to shoot any California legal ammo, except 50 BMG.

I cant take it all, i dont have a van or a uhaul. When im going to the range, its usually just my shotgun. If i feel like doing something different, its usally just that gun. I rarely take more then 1 or 2.

I usually just bring 2-3 for myself - those listed on my forthcoming CCW. If my wife is going, we'll bring her 1911-22 and our "larger" Glock19 for her to shoot before shooting the sub-compacts/pocket guns.

As many as I'm willing to clean afterwards. 3 is my max unless I'm bringing some newbies or family is visiting.

Three of us used to go. 15 rifles, 18 pistols and maybe a 2000 rounds of ammo. If we ever got stopped, I figured we would all be having cavity searches. And none of us looked foreign, just regular white guys.

Depending on what I feel like shooting ...

                    4 handguns
                    1 shotgun

                    At least

The outdoor range I bring all of them.

                      The indoor range usually 3.

I couldn't shoot that many in a day let alone haul that many at one time.

I take anywhere from one to forty or so depending on what I feel like or need to do. Some may just need function testing, some are brought for load testing, some just for fun. Depending on the range, some are brought for SD while camping at the range. I took 7 .22lr handguns to a Women On Target event last weekend and only two were used. When I go to Angeles for a day, I tend to take one or two 50s, a 1919, a .410 or 3 and a variety of other long guns. Other than WOT and classes, I haven't taken a handgun to a range in years. If I want to shoot handguns, I just do it at home.

                          1-3.
If taking out newbies then a small suitcase, probably 6-8.
