Yes, you have legal options. You can purchase reasonable substitute units and any cost over the agreed price should be paid by the breacher of the contract. Of course you will have to get a judgment against him in small claims court (which takes forever) and pay for the filing. Or you could simply take your business elsewhere and shop with more reputable dealers in the future.

I was forced to sell mine out of state, douche nozzle. It was the first rifle I ever bought. I bought it when I turned 18 with money I earned washing cars for the local used car lot. 4 years later notices went up in sporting goods stores, gun clubs, etc. that if you had one you either had to sell it out of state, surrender it to the police, or remove it from the state forever. California forced me, under threat of a felony, to divest myself of property I legally acquired.

IIRC .50BMG rifles are illegal. You can own a .510DTC or a .416 Barrett, but .50BMG is verboten, unless I'm very mistaken.
