IF the government was actually serious about "safety" at airports -

And not just interested in wasting tax payer dollars on "feel good" bullcrap -

They would require ALL bags to be checked at the curb -

And scanning to happen BEFORE you entered the airports.

Include "racial / pattern profiling" into the list of tactics PROVEN to work -

But we've become to p-whipped and PC to actually implement....

That would not really help..it just moves the targets,i mean the crowd , outside bottled up..where bad guy can just hop out of his car guns a blazing rather than have to walk inside to do the same.

You would have to do the search by car, away from the terminal, once cleared by that screening..you would be allowed to proceed to the terminal and get out of your car...but that will never happen..can you imagine the nightmare catching a flight would be then...no thanks...our airport dangers are not so bad we need that kind of security yet...

When TSA pats you down, they are looking for terrorists, not child molesters. Profile all you like, but the facts about WHO commits the majority of terrorist acts don't lie. Facts are not racist. This is similar to the "stop and frisk" policies and why they work. You won't find a ton of police in the upper scale neighborhoods patting people down, because that is not where the crime occurs.

Racial profiling, pattern analysis, incident history, and other parameters need to be used in unison.

What if we were an Asian family? Do you have some sort of stat you would like to toss out to prove Asians are bad like your trying to prove about white people with your little molestation lesson?

Muslim men traveling alone have proven they CAN be a threat SOMETIMES... more so than other combinations and races of travelers.

But I'm not just singling them out. Since you brought up white guys molesting children - if there was some white guy wandering around schools and parks on a regular basis and he had no kids, no reason to be there, and didn't appear to just be out for a morning walk I would hope someone would find it odd and question him.

what ? you got offended because it applied to you ? what do you think of the people that got racial profiled.

my point is you don't get to decide WHEN and WHERE to racial profile. can't just say racial profile is okay at airport and but not anywhere else.

if white married male is more likely (by quite a bit) than other race to child molest (more likely with their own kids), then we should stop and question every white married male (but NOT black or Asians) driving through school zone and parks. At TSA check points, we should question every white family's kids to make sure kids weren't molested. I guarantee you TSA will arrest more child molesters than terrorists.

since Catholic priests are more likely to molest a child than any other religion's. should we also stop all children from attending Catholic church function alone ? though we will allow children in every other church, mosque, temple. let's just single out the Catholic.

I was just thinking there are two key lessons learned and reenforced from the LAX shooting;

1.When shots are fired in an airport, never hide behind a TSA agent

bellwilliam... it's clear that a white man has molested you... possibly stole your wife or girlfriend... so I will let you go be angry in the corner.

If you can't see why profiling makes sense with regards to airport security you're just too slow and sensitive to argue with.
