The second guy was shot through the leg from a swat member who was underneath a car.

Shotguns did not stop the shoot out.

If we have a safe gun list shouldn't cops get safe guns too? If their guns are not safe why do we let them patrol with them?
Lets see you guys work with them and then say the same thing.

Whatever you guys do, lets take away your computer/tools because you can still get the job done with a typewriter and no tools....right?

Law Enforcement does not need select fire.

As a tax payer, I am opposed to LEO having select fire weapons.

As a citizen that is bound by freedom restricting laws, law enforcement should be subjected to all the same laws and firearm restrictions as everyone else in that state/county/city.

Police seem to be gaining more and more power. The customer service received is terrible most the time.

If the police obtain all the best possible weapons, armor and vehicles, what would keep them in check? The citizens would not be able to fight back against a rouge police force.

              I disagree
A police officer should have a carbine in his/her car. Equalize the odds for the police officer in a bad situation.

I do agree that No police forces need select-fire/full auto weapons.
They are generally a waste of ammo(money) unless someone is highly trained, and too many cops seem happy to just qualify with their sidearms.
I cannot see any use of full auto weapons by the police that won't ultimately end up badly.
              Too much sprayin' and prayin'.

Select fire guns are fun and any upright citizen should be able to own one. I don't see that as contradictory because citizens are generally not put on the firing line at demonstrations or riots. Police, on the other hand are and if a cop cuts loose by design or accident then a lot of stupid but otherwise innocent people will get hurt/killed. Imagine what that will look like on TV.
Then the lawyers come out. Net result is probably more protests/ rioting locally and elsewhere and lawsuits that will end up costing the taxpayer (read you and me) more money.

Yes, a few. Not all. Not to mention the steps and process you had to go through to get that as well.

I'll rephrase my comment, as soon as ALL civilians can openly easily obtain S/F.

How did you get your hands on a AW anyways you lucky dog? Business expense? Or out of state?

Yes, but non-SOT FFL holder citizens can only purchase/possess pre-1986 FA firearms. It should be the same rules for everyone, exemptions should not be given to civilian LE agencies.

I think 3 shot is the better choice, but I have never been in a firefight.
It just seems to me that 3 shot bursts force the user to refocus when under fire instead of letting buck fever empty the clip.

Yeah LE should have select fire, and so should THE PEOPLE.

Not ALL citizens can own guns either. Right now any citizen that can legally own a gun can own a full auto. It is an individual choice not to own one.

I agree with you 100%. Non prohibited individuals should be allowed to own select-fire guns. That does not mean LE should have theirs taken away. That just shows envy.

LE should not be outgunned in a shootout with gangbangers. So as far as I'm concerned, if the agency thinks they need them, then they need them.
