Just for the record I don't carry. But anyone who does is welcome anywhere around me.

I have spent my entire life around guns. All members of my family are shooters. My family consists of veterans from 3 branches of the military & a couple of Police Officers.

Had my first .22 rifle at 5 & have shot my whole life. My kids started at about 3 years old. Guns are normal and not something to be afraid of.

Those people who claim to support the 2nd & then seek to restrict it. Are among the most dangerous obstacle for gun rights.

If you don't want someone to carry a gun in your gun store. You are part of the negative impact view on gun owners.

It's good to own guns but too dangerous to carry them in a gun store. This ranks right up there with guns for hunting are great but nobody needs an AR15.

I carry a gun with me everywhere I go and have been doing so for more than 30 years. At no time has anyone ever asked me about my weapon or indicated that they saw it. If you carry concealed, no one should know that you have it and it shouldn't be an issue.
AS far as gun store policy, it could be as simple as their insurance requirements not allowing loaded firearms in the store unless you are an employee.

I wouldn't draw on anyone who doesn't threaten me, but we're not talking about me, we are talking about a gun shop employee and what they are conditioned to think and how they are told to react. As for your comment about the parking lot, i have no good answer. Im saying that a gun shop employee is taught to draw when they see a loaded weapon, for they see it as a threat.

I've seen tons of people come in with guns to store with the actions closed and I have never seen an employee draw down on the customer. All they do is calmly ask to make the gun safe.

Im sorry, i made the assumption that 99% of the people with a CCW have never been in a dynamic situation where their lives and the lives of others are at risk. Silly me, i should have realized that everyone with a CCW is constantly ready and waiting for a situation to unfold, and know precisely how to handle it each and every time. Everyone in this thread also fail to address what will happen when an employee draws down on a guy with a CCW because thats what he has been taught to do.

So are you for or against CCW? You make a lot of the same arguments that anti gun people use whenever ccw is brought up.

This is what the free market and property ownership is meant. The store owner gets to set rules on their property. You get to choose if you want to abide by the rules or not go there.

Vote with your wallet and your feet. If you support the store, shop there. If not, don't.

I will take my money to a gun shop that supports the second amendment, and if I had the opportunity I would tell that shop why they won't get my business.

Was at a gun shop killing some time while out of town yesterday. A nice older gentlemen was also in the store browsing when the owner asked the guy to please not carry in his store. Guy says I have my ccw. Owner says I don't care, we prefer to be the only ones with the guns here!

Wtf?!?! That sounds like our govt, police, army, antis, etc! I always thought that the gun stores and the employees were on our (regular guys/gals) side. Instead they want us to disarm before entering their shop and leave our sidearm out unattended in our vehicles?

This is basically the same argument we use against the antis! Sorry if it makes you uncomfortable but an armed society is a polite society. I have my ccw and I prefer to shop small ffl's cause I like keeping small local businesses around but after yesterday I would almost rather just buy from a big box store cause at least walmart and big 5 don't ask me to disarm.

From now on I will ask all shops if customers must disarm and if that is the case then I will no longer give them my hard earned money and I would like to ask you guys and gals to do the same. And let the ffl's know that if they want to act like the antis they will get the cold shoulder from us and suffer for it!

sure... but kinda messed up when we tell the general public its cool for us to carry and then people they assume are on our team knock it.... because they 'don't like it' (re: trust people being armed around them).

It has never been an issue for me because I don't print and don't volunteer the information. There is always an ah-ha moment for them though if I end up buying something and provide my permit as my secondary ID and HSC exemption. But I haven't been to a LGS that has had a problem.. YET.
