The man shouldnt have volunteered the information, I've yet to walk into a gunstore where every single person walking in the store is asked if they are carrying. If the man was printing thats not good thing either, you are either conceal carrying or open carrying, printing is sloppy.

If you have a legit CCW, "cased weapons only" signs can kiss it, what are they gonna do frisk everyone entering?

      Guns store counter guy.

Wants to look cool so he carries a gun inside the store.
Knows nothing about guns other than to say this is what I carry, buy one of these.

He also has his theme music queued up just in case he gets to be a hero.

            Exactly. So do it.

Business owners can set the rules however he/she pleases. Almost every gun store in the Bay has a sign outside that says something to the effect of "no loaded weapons beyond this point" and I respect it for safety reasons.

I have also mentioned this before with ranges. Why is it that people who handle guns all day and purport to support RTKBA/Carry don't want YOU doing it anywhere near them? Because people (in general) are idiots. Ask any range worker how many stupid things a day they see. They know people + guns = danger. And, yes, they feel threatened by anyone (else) who has a gun. BTW - so do I! Cops included. And to the " we all should be able to carry whenever and whereever" crowd... here is your answer. NO ONE likes other people with guns. Even ardent firearms rights supporters.

Scared people don't like others having guns. If you don't like it stay home.

Cops work scared that's why they unload on kids with toys in their hands.
They look for the bad guy all day long, soon everyone looks like the bad guy.

Youre just full of fail today arent you?? How about this: post your address, and ill share it with about twenty of my friends. Ill tell them all to conceal a pistol, and come over and knock on your door, asking to be let in for a cup of coffee. Would you trust them?? Hell no, you would slam the door and grab your own gun. The same situation applies in a gun shop. if there is a loaded gun in the area, it should be on the hip of the employees, for there is no way for the employees to know if a person has a CCW or if they are a perp. And if they are a bad guy, whats to stop them from saying they have a CCW, and then draw on the employees and start shooting or robbing. The only way to ensure the safety of the shop is to put a blanket ban on non-uniformed people carrying weapons into the store.

I was at the local indoor range last Sunday. Just finished shooting and paying at the counter.
Guy walks in, opens his range bag and pulls out a loaded and chambered Beretta 92 and a Walther P-38.
The signs clearly states on the entrance door, no loaded firearms, etc. entering the store/range.
Policy is to keep the guns in the range bag or case and let the range master/attendant visually inspect them or direct the customer.
The customer said, "I just grabbed them from my safe and they were loaded."
He didn't own up to his mistake.
The range master politely explained/read the policy and where it is posted on the entrance then sent him away.
I think if the guy didn't try and hedge, the range master would have let him slide.
                      Safety is always No. 1.

This was a violation of the first rule of concealed carry.

So it seems as though some of your a saying infringement is ok if it's done for a safety reason. "It's for the children"

Isn't that what we are working against? The thought that it's ok to have a gun just don't bring it here.
So no guns near schools, government buildings & gun stores.

                          Awesome!!!!

Thinking like this is the reason the antis keep inching closer to victory! If 20 people were in a shop and all were armed and everyone knew everyone else was armed then I highly doubt anyone would try anything. There's an easy way to know if someone has a ccw, ask to see it!

How do you think he would have felt if it was a black guy with dreadlocks carrying in his store?

Ya, or you have 20 trigger happy guys who turn your shop into a two way firing range. Also, isnt the point of CCW to be CONCEALED? how would a bad guy know that everyone is armed?? For me, its really simple: if i own a business where guns are moving in and out, then those guns should be unloaded. If they are not, then the person with that gun is a threat to my safety and the shops safety. And im sure that the guy who is looking to rob the store will walk in first, ask for everyone with a ccw to identify themselves, and then determine whether or not to rob the store. GENIUS
