For an AR-15, 3K is overkill. I could buy a kick @$$ Armalite even, or better yet, tons of Del-Ton's which you seem to hate. Have you even HELD a Del-Ton? They are awesome. The quality is wonderful. Or, I could get a Palmetto State Armory AR-15, that would rival or BEAT your almighty Bushy for one 3rd the price.

What do you mean 3k is overkill? 3k is how many rounds I've fired through it not how much I paid for it.. Look, I know you're 16 So you can't buy any rifle. But when you turn 18 go ahead and buy what you want, it doesn't bother me.

Dude, my age has NOTHING to do with this. I'm not even in the market to build an AR, I don't want one. I just have no idea why you like Bushmaster. I know personally of THREE that have had issues (Receiver blown out the sides, another one bolt bent, and the last was front sight block twisted off) , and all cost more than $1K at the time of purchase. If yours works great, you've got a keeper. But I, personally, will never touch a Bushmaster made after 1995 (seems to be the first year of crap), and I don't know why someone would consider them.

LOL love your story telling skills and 1995 really how did you come up with that year? Look up scootch on youtube he has a Bushmaster nearly as old as you ( 15 years old) he shows it in every AR video he shoots and he hasn't cleaned it since he had it so I guess they really took a crap didn't they.

I've heard great things about the M&P series, and I can vouch for PSA making a very nice product for the money.

Also, maybe consider buying parts and mixing/matching an upper and a lower, which you would hopefully construct? If you're into that sort of thing, fun stuff!

            On a pseudo-related note:

I really have no stake in this game, i'm comfortable with my piston-driven старое русское дерьмо for the time being...but...

            This argument is stupid.

"Hey guys! Your anecdotes about Bushmaster ARs crapping out, and your internet-derived stories about Bushies crapping out, are all invalidated by MY Bushmaster anecdote and internet-derived video anecdote! HAH!"

Sorry, I just thought it was funny to claim victory this way. Especially when they seem to have...more...anecdotes. Of course, it goes both ways, with either side trying to say their limited experience speaks to the whole brand.

Not a personal attack. I'm just amused.
This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it.

I can make up stories too what name brand do you want me to trash lol.

Yeah, I was sitting at the range with my Colt and the guy two lines down from me had a Bushmaster, no longer than 3 shots did his rifle just shatter into pieces. I couldn't believe it.
And another time I was at the range some guy came up to the lane next to me with a Bushmaster and he took one shot and the damn front sight post just wiggled loose and flopped to the side. He said Holy ****! He had a red dot so he continued to shoot it and the second shot his Bushmaster just blew out the side. I tell ya those Bushmasters are garbage, I wouldn't touch one from 1995 on ward but i'll recommend a Windham Weaponry AR they are awesome!

How did I come up with that year? From reading, duh. You would find it too if you did that. Look at the recalls and read up on the failures the Bushy's had: All after '95.
And I watch Sootch00 all the time. Don's a cool guy. And he can have a Bushmaster all he wants. If you find a good one, that's great. But lately (95 from my research), their quality has been hit an miss, and frankly, I won't spend time on them until they do fix their game.

One last thing: I'm not making up stories. My uncle (A magnet for firearms malfunctions ) Broke his Bushy on the 2nd or 3rd shooting trip (less than 500 rounds through it). Front sight block flew right off.

I have a Windham SRC M4 with about 800 or so rounds thru it. Run a Aimpoint M4S on Larue QD and a Aimpoint 3X mag also on a Larue QD. Magpul flip front and rear. Tactical link Gen2 QD sling mount and Tactical link single point sling. I Love this rifle. It is very accurate and I might go as far to say I actually lust after it. shhhh.....

Well you know they are made by the same people that made the Bushmaster and I guess you might want to take it back because it might fail on you lol. I'm sorry but they're crap but im happy for you. LOL j/k.

Bottom line is, someone saying such and such brand sucks and it'll fall apart on you or whatever is almost with certainty false. There's lemons out there of every brand, I don't care if its a Bushmaster,Colt or LMT there's lemons, no company puts out perfection 100% of the time. Bushmaster sells thousands of rifles everyday? and not everyone of them has problems. The internet brings out the bad apples a lot more than it would back in the day. for every person that has problems there's probably 4 or 5 people or more that dont.

I just spent $750 building an AR better, more capable, more accurate and just as reliable as a "colt" or what ever you want to judge it against

LOL! It's quality enough crap for me. Every brand has problems here and there. Do I say my Windham is of the highest quality AR I would find? No. But I live it. And I know of many others who love theirs. To each his own right?
