Wait for the Midway bags to go on sale and get one of them. I have a large and a small. I use the large bag for the range, and the small one to store extra gun related things in.

The large bag is ideal for two pistols, but you can put more in it if you like.

Invest in a good one. I went cheap and am regretting it now.

Yes, for most bags this is true. I've found the Midway bags to be excellent, except I don't care for the layout of their Drag Bag so I'm looking for a different one. Their range and rifle bags are great and much cheaper than their competition.

Downside? Made in China... But Midway is a great company and they donate a lot of money to the NRA via their roundup program.

            Get a range bag.

Like others said, keep your eye & ears in there, masking tape, staple gun & staples, targets, rags, cleaning supplies, ammo, some minor first aid stuff, multi tool.... etc.

My buddy uses a fishing tackle box. Every week I ask the same question: "Are you going fishing?"

The Midways are nice! I went cheap with a Wolf range bag loaded it with good amount of ammo and ripped the seems. Went with a Larue bag. Little on the pricey side but great bag and great quality.

Should have clarified. I am an amazing cheap skate. I spent 20 bucks on my range bag, and its completely worthless. One box of ammo and the damn thing folds up on itself. I plan on getting one of the medium sized midway or cabelas bags soon, along with a new "war bag " to replace my duffle bag.

                        I use an ice chest.

Covert, it's got wheels and a handle. Plenty of room for all my stuff!

You know... people love range bags and cases...

I'd recommend a basic gun case to meet the expectations of LEOs while transporting... everything else, I'd get a basic tool bag from Home Depot, OSH, or Lowes. They work very well. Or check an army surplus store for a mechanics tool bag. I have two of those, and they're better than any range bag I own.

Even when the Midway bag went on sale they charged me about 20 bux for shipping.

I used all sorts of stuff including old brief cases, backpacks, etc., but I bought one of these a couple of years ago:

It's been great. It will hold two pistols and all the ammo I need for a range trip with two pistols and a long gun. I leave my eyes, ears and other accessories like pasters and a staple gun in it. It can get heavy, so I'm not sure I'd want to go much larger, but it's perfect to hit the range for an hour or two here and there.

If you're the type of shooter that is determined to shoot eight guns and spend the entire day at the range, you probably need a bigger solution, but for a shooter that takes a couple guns a couple times a month, this would be perfect.
