The place had to remove all the stucco and chicken wire and re-do the walls. The word I got from head of security was that the wire set off the alarm when it was powered up. The place did not want the public knowing these are in place and had to re-do quite a bit to hide the new work.

With all this "gun control" talk, I've not heard one politician say how they plan on taking guns from criminals, just law abiding Citizens.

Please read the Calguns Wiki
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

Well, I don't know what they were using. The metal detectors in use today are not effected by metal in that manner. They detect metal passing thru the field, not stationary metal around them. The place had to remove all the stucco and chicken wire and re-do the walls. Loss prevention detectors work differently, and I don't have any expertise with those.

You cannot possibly have reading comprehension that low. Ron didn't nearly shoot a man over a $45 ticket. A man tried to kill a deputy over a $45 ticket. If you were taking an evening stroll and had a concealed weapon and your wife had a walking stick, and a thug walked up, took your wife's walking stick, and began beating her mercilessly with it, what would you do?Si Senor. I has them in spanish since that's what I am entitled too
/sarcasm.
As for you Ron, I treat every single post of yours as comedic relief. I may be wrong but you are just a bag of lolz. I am serious when I say if I want to read something to cheer me up, I grab a scotch and just go through your posts. Does it every time. It's actually the only reason why you're not ignored on my side. Lets look at this thread and your posts. We were having a discussion about why a key for a type of gun was being scrutinized. You came with a rebuttal the size of a whale basically showing us your work history. Now while some of it may have been relevant, most of it wasn't. I truly and wholeheartedly believe you just like to brag about yourself. I can quote one time where you were bragging about almost shooting a person over a 45 dollar ticket! It was a good laugh. Thank you.
I'd shoot him. You would, too. The fact that Ron "nearly" shot him shows remarkable restraint, more so than you OR I would've shown. As for seemingly innocuous things being crafted into a weapon, your average person doesn't know why diesel fuel and fertilizer might be suspicious depending on the circumstances, either.Comment

Falcon,
I had a card...expired date on the card on the glove box. I have 5 cars, motorcycle & boat each with its own insurance card, just didn't place the new one in the glove box.
Dearthsean,
All my keys are on the same chain, house, car(s), bike, mailbox, and assorted keys to gun locks.
The day LE needs to protect me from keys to enter a public building to conduct business is a sad commentary on life today.
Prachett,
I disagree. You would have shot the guy? So much for due process.
And, your logic makes anyone with a pool and a lawn suspicious. Conjecture, nothing more.
BTW, crystal draino and gasoline is a nasty mix too...a mobster once told me.
CHS,
I don't know why either...hence forth the reason for this thread.Comment

Then said He unto them...
"and he that hath no 1911 designed by my servant John Moses Browning,
let him sell his garment and buy one."
And they said, "Lord, behold, here are two Glocks."
And He said unto them, "Meh, it's a good start."

Then follow that statement with some mumblings about the key's possible biohazard contamination...and a suggestion they wash their hands.
