This one cop I knew when he passed away (a few years ago) had a Python, Detective Special and a mint condition USGI 1911. A Pawn Shop gave his three kids $600 so each got $200. They had do clue what the value was.

      1. Compared to what?
      2. At what cost?
      3. What hard evidence do you have?

while not to monetize it, it would bring to some parity when selling in other sites. else a minimum of posts "not" in off-topic. too bad a system can't quality a "contribute to cgn community" post vs. just a smiley or "i agree / disagree"

Like I have a BHP and I always wanted a second preferably in nickle. Anyways I saw somebody's first post is a BHP for $500. It is sold and the buyer a month later is posting the same BHP for $1500. It is what it is. Also at my age I'm downsizing so anything that is just sitting in the Gun Safe has to go. So on WTB somebody said they wanted S&W revolvers and I responded with what I got and I thought they wanted special revolvers for their Collection. But they just want to flip them because they wanted to buy them cheap.
Some of that stuff is disheartening. I used to think that the "community" here (and in the gun stores) would be all solid. Turns out that it's not so, not even close. I was in a shop a few weeks ago where a guy came in selling a Ruger Target .22 (can't remember which version). They were offering nothing, didn't even want it, although like new. Said it was worth $100 IIRC. I've had messages for stuff I was selling wanting to buy for less than 25% of what I was asking. OTOH, I've offered to give away brass and no one even wants to meet up and pick it up. It's a weird community.

There are some people that it's just not worth engaging.

Calguns is mostly a place where conservatives gather, while r/CAGuns attacts liberal gun owners. That's the distinction. I was banned for life from r/CAGuns for pointing out at their controversies. Liberal gun owners have to make a ton on mental gymnastics to vote D, then go complaint about another anti-2A law.

It's like trading-in your car at a dealership. No surprise, they want it cheap, right? That's why private party sale is more profitable, but requires a bit more time spent. With the internet available at your fingertips, it won't take long to figure out the asking price.

Not everyone's life revolves around guns. Having my right to own guns is great, but not if it means the other parts of my life is made worse or flat out illegal. Both parties have stupid policies that make society worse off. I have to vote based upon which one will provide the most positive impact in my life even if it also brings some negatives. The choice of lesser evils you can say.

When a widow walks into a gun store, and says she needs to get rid of his collection, do you think a gun store will deal with her in a fair manner? I know if a case like this, she went to the store where the husband had purchased the arms. She thought they would treat her fairly, since there'd been a long-standing relationship. Should she know enough about the guns to even do research on the internet? Some variations require more understanding than an internet search by a survivor IMHO. She wasn't treated fairly at all. It's fairly common for used guns. Seen it when a young guy in the military makes bad decisions about money and sells his 870 that he bought a couple of weeks before. In that case it can just be a hard lesson about being more responsible with his finances.
I'm thinking about calling LS&B if the next scan comes back positive. I don't want my wife to have to deal with the jackals that show up.
                  YMMV of course.

Alas, there is no compassion left in this country. Everything is monetized, even Christmas and Easter Day. I have acknowledged this. Make sure to attach the right price tag to all your valuables till you can.

You are given a variety of rights. Which ones you prioritize is your choice. Vote D, if you feel like it. I respect your choice. But please, don't complain about stupid CA gun laws right after. You knew it, when you check-marked D on the ballot. Stand strong for your principles.

Way back in 2012, I had a rifle to sell. Remembering the the CG booth at the Vallejo Gun Show, I logged into CG with the intent to just sell the rifle and scoot. My first post was in the FS subforum, and I've been here ever since. In all the intervening time I accumulated a 123+ positive feedback up until the forum gasped, died, and was reborn.

I did move out of state though about 5 years ago, and now do all my selling "cash and carry" in various parking lots around town.
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

Don't mind working with Jr members as long as they're not flakes, like the one today. Confirmed a time and place last night. Then today, 2 hours before the scheduled time he confirmed again, then crickets. No Sorry can't meet no nothing just silence. I imagine the gun was sold to someone else, oh well but at least some common courtesy and follow up so I'm not wasting my time. A Sr member doing it would piss me off to.
