had on the shelf in a gun shop I used to work at a used jennings j22 for 25 bucks. At the time the DROS + taxes + fees + BS would have made the gun around 75 bucks out the door which I thought was farkin' hilarious.

Oh, and I bought a M94 mauser (swede carbine) for 50 rounds of .223 and a used PSE compound bow. It's a .45acp mauser now.

In the mid 70's I bought ten Ravens for $15 each. I've gotten rid of all but one of them at gun "buy-backs" sponsored by police departments for $100 each. It gave me a warm feeling all over, knowing that I'd gotten "another gun off the streets."

Of course, I spent that money on other gun purchases.

When my little brother was about 10, he came home with a Marlin .22lr that he bought at a garage sale for $10. Then again, I've been given more guns than I care to admit so, for me FREE is the cheapest. I've bought a couple black powder kit guns for $10-$15. From a shop, the cheapest one I ever bought was probably a $50 4 barrelled pepperbox. Somewhere I still have a $35 bootgun that ordered along with my $65 1895 Nagant. I sold all my Mosins including my $49 Big 5 M44.

I almost thought I was reading a post I hadn't made yet. I picked up a Double Nine Convertible (minus the magnum cylinder) for $30 about 30 years ago - and I still have it!

I also picked up a Win Model 94 30-30 around the same time for $30. Unfortunately, it's been gone a while.

About 10 years ago I bought an SKS for $100 with a couple hundred rounds of ammo. I shot all the ammo and sold it for $100 a few months later. It was my first gun and I regret selling it.

I bought a funny looking rifle at a garage sale for $18. It was before the days of immediate access to all information, and it took me quite a while to figure out what it was.

Turns out it was a Steyr M95 Long Rifle.

                                I bought a H&R 22 Special for $35 at a police auction. That was o.t.d. too!
