I thought many of the same things watching the show.....It appears they just threw one together.....

However, I am going to play devils advocate here.......they film hours of video for one 1/2 hour show, and then editors cut and paste what they want into the show.......All the people dogging the show are basing their opinions/reasons for it on what they see on TV. I am willing to bet if they edited the show to better represent what actually goes on, I think opinions would probably be a different.

Fact is, unless you are there in person, you don't see a lot of what happens, you miss too much of the build and details about what is actually being done, etc. I highly doubt what you see on TV is the whole "story" about what is being built, etc., so cut them some slack.

I do get sick of the owner sometimes, but when there isn't anything better on, its decent entertainment when there is nothing else to do. Plus it gets people interested in guns.

i think the show is pretty dumb, and the fake shots and what not are irritating, but i do watch it just for the fact that its a show with guns and sometimes theres nothin else on. i'll pretty much watch any show with guns haha. its entertaining you just gota get past the bs

          Exactamundo...

Like the dentist with the tooth stuck in the revolver.

That was Will's gun, and he was not happy with the producers, he was concerned about damage.
The dentist was told to arrive on set with two shirts and a tooth.

He walked in, handed the gun to Will, walked out, changed his shirt, and walked back in and they filmed the "next day" when he picked it up.

          That segment was 100% fake.

As I suspect was the whole segment with the pink Duracoated 1911 on American Guns.

A few years back, I called them to ask about converting my Saiga 308. I actually spoke with Will and that guy spent about 20-30mins just talking to me and answering all my questions. He seemed like a very cool guy to spend that much time answering all my dumb questions. He really did have some cool Saiga builds, with the Saiga 5.56 converted to use Ar mags and the Saiga 308 converted to use M14 mags. That was wayy before the show. So Im sure they are pretty good gunsmiths but there are probably going along with the show now. Im sure most of it is scripted and there just going with the flow.

I have been wondering if they could make an AR or AK, with a kind of locking device on the magazine release. A cool thing they could do is make it so that a bullet could release the magazine (using the bullet as a tool, making it Ca compliant).

I think it would be groundbreaking, it'd open up a whole new market. If they did create such a thing, I would expect it to sell at a premium price (it's never been done before after all), but the groundbreakery would compensate for the high price

No way that would take tons of engineering and a secret call to riflegear for a bb then say they designed it.

The show started off good but got way too fake and dramtic. you can totally tell that some executive jack off held a meeting and told everyone they need more drama.

AND Steph is freaken ugly! Sorry I had to say it.

Repub, I have some "friends" in the industry and word is Red Jacket is already working on that game changing product at this very moment. Early prototypes have been called "The Calif. compliant, firearm projectile operated, non-detachable magazine release mechanism", I heard someone suggested calling it a "bullet button" but they were promptly taken out back and shot with a revolver filled with blanks.
A gun, like any other source of power, is a force for either good or evil, being neither in itself, but dependent upon those who possess it.

The show is entertainment weather you like it or not. I still prefer to see shows that revolve around firearms than not having any at all. If you owned a gun shop and was asked to do a TV show, I guarantee you would jump at it. Instant celebs and rich.

Are you sure it wasn't an Uzi with blanks?

Its a show about guns and shooting on the Discovery channel. Shows like Sons of Guns, American Guns and Top Shot are great for our cause. Lets be happy that guns are becoming so socially acceptable.
