Sure as heck wouldn't be useful as a "sniper round" if they did whistle, but it might make for an interesting conversation starter at the range. It isn't unheard of for people to spend exuberant quantities of money for novelty ammunition.. and perhaps it would become quite a marketing ploy. I can see it now.. Nice idea, but I don't think they will work. A rifle bullet spins at over 200,000 revolutions per minute. Those porting holes will never be perfectly drilled around the circumference. If the weight is off center, the bullet will wobble all over the place reducing accuracy. The hot gasses coming out the ports may also do damage to the bullet. The pistol bullet may be better, but so what. Matching bullet type and powder to your gun, would give better accuracy.

            compbullet

I'm Thinking that the bullet will have dramatic Increases in velocity if the expanding gasses ,create a "gas-cushion" between the bullet surface and the barrel surfaces,,however,,a perpendicular set of ringlets cut around the holes would be better because just holes may affect rifling,> hence bullet stabilization is compromised...whatyatink...

Some of the Spec Ops guys have been using a similar bullet for years.

I spoke to a couple of guys from Uranus. Thats what they run.

Visit this link and watch the entire video till the end. Maybe you'll understand why people get sick of seeing the same thing over and over.

Read post #3 carefully, notice the topic and compare it to post #1. It's pretty obvious that multiple threads were merged by the moderators.
