    i wouldn't worry about the grease leaking.. i'd worry about it short stroking in cold weather when that axle grease solidifies...I use lithium grease... doesn't run or congleal in cold weather and in the last 8yrs in match shooting.. never had a hiccup with either my service riffle or spacegun.

      It would need to be damn cold and have a lot of grease in there.

          Wolf springs help.

          Otherwise... it's an AR. If it twangs like your okie cousin bubba- that's what it's s'posed to do.

                  Many of us learned to shoot an AR15/M16 in the military so we learned the wisdom of the Sproing/Twang.

                  It is useful since it lets you know when you've shot your last round.

                    Shoot without earplugs. You won't hear the annoying sproing.

                      ^Yup.

                      I must admit, the first time I shot the M16 a "WTF" went thru my head, tho.

                        Twang = keep shooting

                        No twang = out of ammo or something is wrong with the rifle

                        I <3 twang

                            I shot one with a pneumatic, or hydraulic sort of buffer... not twang, but I'm used to it, so I was like "whoa."

                              Ace buffer tube with camo tape wrap = quiet peaceful recoil.
