    AR-15 Twang busting.

So my buffer spring was really annoying, here I am shooting my new AR and every time I pull the trigger it makes an ugly pogo stick sound.
I tried a bunch of lubes to get it to stop, nothing worked.
Then I cleaned the reciever extension and tried some axle grease.

    Silent,smooth operation. No twang .

Usually, just shooting it will quiet it down. Cleaning brings it back though. I recently installed a Spikes Tactical ST2 which made a difference in felt recoil as well as the "sproing" sound.

I was looking at the ST-T2 for my rifle, but was unsure about altering my buffer set up. I've been fortunate and had 0 malfunctions, I'm worried I'll have my first one soon after I change it out.

Everything is perfect, except my ejection pattern is a little forward and judging by the ejection chart I should want a heavier buffer. I'm just nervous about it.

It's called the SPROING and its a Normal Sound from an AR15 rifle.

            Learn it
            Live it
            Love it

That grease might cause a mess if it leaks out of the buffer tube.

It's a very light film.just enough to quiet the spring sliding on the tube. I didn't pack it in.

If you love that sound more power to ya, but it bugged me and I killed it.
I will not bow down to the sproing.lol

I like the sproing. I can tell when I just fired the last round purely by the sound.

That's what my brother did with his. He got his a few months before me so I expected it. Still sucked. Thin layer of grease did the trick tho.

My sentiments exactly. Sounds just like a spring loaded, suction cup dart gun toy...

                          You broke your AR

Might as well get rid of the annoying part where bullets come out the tip too

never had a problem, but I used the spikes ST-T2 in both my rifles from day one.
