That's the only manual I've seen it in writing, doubtful its the only one, but certainly not "every manufacturer."

To hell with that I use my thumb and forefinger. Bang, bang, bang and sometimes a kerpow or the rare kerpowie!

It works so well I often travel the country at night in a jet that puts the Bat-Jet to shame and eradicate zombies all over.

Clean and simple. Hey, when was the last time you saw a zombie in your neighborhood?

Seriously, if you are looking for a firearm to feed certain ammo you should look at specific models. To go by manufacturer is way too broad of a statement. Then any popular pistol usually can be easily modified to feed specific ammo by starting with an internet search.

OP-You watch way too many movies, or play too many videt games. Get out of fantasy island, turn off the No-friend-o, and buy a pistol that fits your "real" needs. I hope you don't walk into a gun shop asking those kinds of questions, your resect level will drop below undead.

U mean like thread crapping and improper spelling? I think that's downright friendly of you. :-D
Wish I was rich instead of so damn good looking.

So your hobbies are zombie hunting? That's realistic. Stop making a mockery of the firearms community.

Skip the handgun, if you need a 45 for zombies, get a rifle...

Id say Glock or XD, both eat any ammo, (Glock has been proven, XD is getting up there also)
They are fairly priced (Id say avg. $550-700)

While you're at it, why not go for the Ultimate .45 in the HK Mark 23.....the most awesome, and the most reliable .45 on the market bar none! It ain't the cheapest, but it will never fail you with them Zombies!

Just to let you know, I've seen kimbers jam on ball rounds, and springfields eat everything. You have to know what is causing the problem in order to fix it. I own a Kimber, and it's eaten everything I've thrown at (hollow points, lighter loads, heavy loads, ball ammo, lighter bullets) and a friend has the exact same pistol that jammed on everything. Turns out he has too much space from his ramp to his barrel. Once that was solved, zoom!

That's a BRILLIANT idea. Then I can take out zombies from a distance before they smell my brains!

Thanks for all your helpful comments and feedback. The most useful advice was keeping the weight to a minimum (SDM44, Steve1968LS2) and sharing ammo with the long gun (props to kemikalembalance). Zombie practicality dictates using the KISS principle here. So here's my kit:

RIA Tactical 1911 + Marlin Camp Carbine (if I can find one) est. $1200

                              ..or..

Glock 17 or Sig P226 + Kel-Tec SUB-2000 (extra points because it can be folded into a backpack) est. $900

                              ..or even maybe..

Ruger SP101 + .357 lever rifle. (if you're into that sort of thing, not that there's anything wrong with that) est. $1400

Now to start saving up. I hope I have enough time before the outbreak..
