Their marketing sucks and makes you paranoid about them going under. The 4 day handgun course I took was fun and I'd love to go again. I have a diamond, I just wish I had the money to use it. (time, ammo, food, hotel, car and travel expenses on top of the membership itself)

The training is excellent. I try to go 3 times a year.

The training is great, the marketing is, well, in a word: bizarre.

I bought a Diamond membership for $500 earlier this year and was scared to death that it would close before I was able to attend a class. Their marketing screams "We are closing", but so far they are still open.

I don't know how many people the crazy last chance offers turn away but I am sure it is quite a few. I was amazed though that when I got to class, Dr Piazza is on video acting like a normal person. He made a lot of sense and that really made me feel more comfortable.

Once the actual training started it was incredible. They are committed to safety and teaching their way of shooting. I was a total noob when I got there, and after the 4 day defensive handgun class, my friends who have been shooting for years were jealous. I went back again for the same class 2 months later and shot "Graduate". Now I will move on to the Advanced Tactical handgun later in the year.

I am going to the 4 day Tactical Shotgun class in September and I can't wait.

Needless to say, I am more than happy with my $500 investment. In fact, it may very well be the best money I have ever spent. If the place closed tomorrow, I would still have got my money's worth.

I am a member and thoroughly enjoyed the various classes I have taken. The concern about FS's marketing philosophy and sustainability has been an ongoing concern for that last decade plus some. Obviously there are not guarantees but I will probably pick up some more memberships.

The key is to get past the basic classes to the more advanced classes. They tend to be a lot more high-speed, low-drag. The skills are much higher for the class as a whole so the instruction changes complexion.

+1. I've been tossing around the idea of buying a membership (you can find guys selling diamonds for sub-$250). I figure if they go under, meh, it's not a whole lot lost. Not like those people who paid $99k for theirs.

Their marketing is a bit weird. Their website sucks big time. It looks like an archive of a webpage from 1999. You'd think with all the money they got rolling in, they could spend $10k and get a top-notch web site built. Right now their page just screams fly-by-night.

I picked up 4 @ $250 ea. Now the family can all train together.
If they close not a huge some of money lost.

When the Diamond membership was $99k, it included a Rolex, a Bushmaster Dissipator AR15 rifle, Remington 700P, a Mossberg 590A1 shotgun, a Springfield Armory XD-40 & a few misc items like a shirt, flash light, holster & hat. Not to mention you can have a birthday party on premises for up to 40 guests. You don't get all those items for the $500 membership lol

So, in comparison, with a $99k Diamond membership you will get- Access to over 50 courses to attend PLUS any courses we create in the future your value exceeds $75,000! The four-day birthday party for 40 of your guests adds another $80,000 in value for a total of $155,000. And of course the value of a limited edition Front Sight Rolex as a gift for your participation and support of Front Sight at the highest levels is quite frankly... priceless!

hey bert, start gathering your ammo for the shotgun class
                            300 rounds of birdshot,
                            250 rounds of 00 buckshot,
75 rounds of slug ammunition required.

I was thinking about tac shotgun course in September myself, but plans changed, and found ammoman (http://www.ammoman.com/webstore_12GA.htm) to have the best pricing on the 00 and slugs, if you find anything better for pricing, please let me know, and report back the experience too, I'd like to hear about it if no on else does.

As to the memberships, I think its a heck of a deal ($125/diamond), I'll be trying to get a membership for each of my family members (wife/4 kids)
