Also, keep in mind that most of these shows don't take more than 2-3 weeks to shoot. Survivor goes 39 days, and it is the longest, other than perhaps Big Brother.

Which shows take 2-3 weeks? The Amazing Race 30 days, Survivor 39 days, Top Shot took 37 days, American Idol 6 months. The Biggest Loser has to take more than 2-3 weeks to lose 100lbs by some contestants. Even The Real World takes 2 months.

ETA: The Apprentice takes 6 weeks, even The Bachelor takes 6 weeks.

While not a contestant show, he was at sea in the arctic for 99 days of shooting. Yep, most reality shows aren't a couple weeks in the park, some can be extremely long and grueling on the crew as well.

At best, game shows take about 2-3 weeks to shoot a seasons worth.

I don't know details, but I'm assuming this new season is when the Japanese finally had enough of it being constantly chased (harassed?) by the WW's team.
I'd only speculate when this next season airs, it will show the Japanese's halt on whaling. The time line on the notice of their decision seems on par with it.

Agreed. Most reality shows are 30+days. Survivor at 39 days is not the longest reality show. It would be tough to be on the film crew of Deadliest Catch. It's difficult to film in less than 3 weeks.

Yeah, first time I've ever seen a Razorcat. I'm more of a purist historic arms collector/shooter.
But that pistol certainly does and will rightfully hold it's place in the books!

I can imagine how tough it must have been for Jamie and Eric to hit the ground running with it under the stress of the competition.
