There's a guy exactly like this at my work. He always talks about all the "machine guns" that he owns and how he has a pistol that shoots 30 cal rounds and because he makes it sound so tacticool everyone else around him that doesn't know about guns say "oooohhhh... ahhhhh". I just want to smack him everytime he starts spewing out the gun bs, but unfortunately I can't because... he's my boss.

Just curious, playing devils advocate here, could he actually be refering to a Glock in 9mm Luger not Ruger?
I mean, I know what you are saying, the guy is probably full of crap, and is all about 1^-manship, butat least hes somewhat close, right?

and, technically. . . isnt the .30 carbine a .30 cal round? The Universal Enforcer and AMT both can shoot .30 carbine rounds.

People that make up stories or exaggerate have low self-esteem. I find them very difficult to talk to without sounding condescending. I have a very low tolerance for BS. I will not however call them out, what's the point. I'll just agree with them and move along. I don't feel the need to "one up" guys like that.
That's different than the regular guys sitting around telling fish stories, in that case, I've got the biggest fish, lol.

I know a guy who's like that when it comes to guns and gun deals. He always says he has the best guns and that everyone wants to buy them from him. He has a parts gun, a Gold Cup S70 that he claimed was in WW2. Nothing on the gun matched and he claimed someone wanted to give him 4 grand for it. I feel sorry that he payed $1500 for it.

I know a guy like. We call him the "One Upper" because he always tries to one up you with his stories.

HA! there used to be a guy just like that where I used to work.

No matter what the conversation was about he always had the best cars, the most money, the best clothes, the best looking girls, the richest friends, the best parties,he had the best everything no matter what it was and the truth was that he didn't. People like that are annoying even to just have any type of simple conversation with.
