    gun liars?

So a friend and I were having a pretty quiet conversation about our last outing to the range on our break outside of our store when a co-worker was listening in and butted into our conversation asking us weird questions about what we own and where do we shoot...then started BS'ing about how he has a CW from vegas and a glock 9 ruger with 13 round clips, a m16 full auto and a 50. cal "sniper rifle". that he's (and hes always strapped with his glock 9 ruger with cop killers everywhere he rolls) and yes these words came from his mouth.

I basically rolled my eyes and didnt want to get into details with him so i said oh cool man. Then continued saying that he was in shooting tournaments taking big money home in vegas.

So my friend and I went on talking about our day and he kept asking about our gear. I kind of felt weird telling him what i had so i just said i rent guns at a range.
Anyone else meet people like this? I dont mind talking guns to people but seriously atleast get your facts straight. Should i be worried about this guy?

Yup, I agree. Call out the BS'er in front of other people so that his charades are exposed for all to see. Once you knock down his credibility, it's all over from there.

You might suggest to him that his knowledge of firearms is being wasted in his current occupation and that he should find employment as a clerk in a gun store or at the DOJ, BoF.

I met two and both times I pulled them aside, alone, told them they were making an %#$ out of themselves, they didn't know jack and anyone who knew about firearms knew they were lying. One guy thanked me and, in time, became a great gun owner.

The other tried to keep the BS up. Told me he was a SEAL and had more advanced knowledge then me. Thats why I didn't understand what he was saying about Military M16s. He was 19 years old. Every time the BSer opened his mouth I corrected him in front of everyone. After a few months any time he opened his mouth about guns people told him to shut up.

pull the guy aside and tell him to shut up...find out what his "hobby" is then pretend you know all about it and make stuff up...he will quickly realize that is what he sounds like talking about guns.

Yeah, I knew this guy who said he had gun made entirely of porcelin. He said he would go through airport x-rays just because he could. He told me it cost a pretty penny too.

If you had talked with him a little bit longer, he would have proceeded to tell you just how many zombies and alien attackers he killed the last time he shot these guns of his.... in the video games he plays.

I wouldnt wait. With the current state of flux the country is in with the AZ thing, its best not to let his BS get into other people.

The one guy I convinced to stop his BS was a guitar player. I told him I owned a ________ (some weird word I made up) the best guitar ever made...all the professional guitar players used them.... and played for a old band called metallica during their early years...he gave me a funny look and I said..."thats what you sound like telling people you own guns. Don't do it. If you need info on guns, just ask me."
