I think people are used to guns only being props in the movies where getting shot or just randomly discharging a firearm in public isn't a big deal.
That seems to be the most common thing people say, on top of "have you ever shot someone" Haha. People these day.

In addition be careful of your HR department. If they talk to you in passing and even hint at something to steer you into trouble don't fall for it!!!! Despite Californias economical times the corporate structure will spend millions to get rid of you cuz you have them. I don't know how other states are but our state is so anti-gun it's amazing how we got into all this trouble in the first place.

I'm glad I don't work where you do. I may be one of only a very small number of gun owners where I work, but most of the people I work with know that I'm a hunter and shooter. I don't hide it from anyone. I have taken co-workers to the range. I've had firearms discussions with 'antis'. No problems here.

Once you tell someone about it at work it spreads like wild fire and you can get fired. You think women are bad a spreading rumors???? Believe me... men are just as bad if not worse so gender doesn't mater.

Keep your mouth shut and don't take any of your co-workers to the range even if their your buddies. You'll pay a dear price for it.

          Heckled

My wife heckles me occasionally, "You never even fire them all"; your gun safe is full, are you going to get rid of some guns"? The answers... well, we all know em.

Sorry, man. Nothing worse than getting heckled by the wife.

At least that's what they tell me.

How about just changing a few words in your sentence and repeating it back to her..."You never even wear them all; your closet is full, when are you going to get rid of some shoes/clothes/earrings/jewelry

The answers....well, they make us puke.

I have ran into that a few times in my life, each time I gave the same answer.
Since I've been old enough to have a job the main tools of my trade have been firearms.
Would you ask a carpenter why he likes hammers or an accountant why he uses a calculator. The U.S. Government and the state of California have spent allot of time and money training me to use the tools of my trade. So dont you think its perfectly normal for me to have an interest in them.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.

I get a fair amount of heckling, then again I am frequently using "blah" time reading or researching something 2A related. The funny thing is I work with the military, deployed, and I am unarmed...

Haha that bolded part made me imagine you like to do desk pops at your office..

By the way.. the best way to combat a naysayer is to tell them a story about when you were younger. Your friend's family was robbed in their home.. the robbers took all the home items but then for some reason, shot and killed the entire family out of pure evilness(These people are out there..). Tell them ever since you made it a firm belief that you nor your family would be a victim like that.

Trust me.. with these types of people.. any other reason they will not want to rationalize with.

                      Hang out with smarter people.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

There is no need for you to be defensive about liking/owning guns. So if the conversation is not to your liking, just change the subject. Whether you AD everyday or not doesn't matter (except if you've got bullet scars everywher on you, then that becomes a conversation peice).

The key is not to bring up the subject; and if others brings it up, you can simply (and naturally) not participate.
