The price that something sells is the price the market bears... if you don't like the price..you're not the intended market... if no one buys it, the price will come down or the item won't be sold. Why get worked up over it.. either buy it or shut up and move along. If i'm selling something, I want to get the most $ I can from it... why not? Do I agree w/ XDm's going for 900? or Glock 4's goin for 800? No..but i'm also not stupid enough to pay that price..or desperate enough when neither is that great of a gun to warrant the price; but someone might think it is..and if the seller can sell it..more power to him.

if you don't like the price, you don't have to say anything. If it doesn't sell then it is too much, if it is sold, then someone wanted to pay the price.

I agree- it should be allowed to point out that sellers are asking MORE for used than one could get the same thing brand new. (off roster or on!) After all, we're all here to ostensively help other gun enthusiasts, not to just stand by and let knewbs get ripped off by unscrupulous sellers. Why not allow a little sharing?

I just gotta wonder if the typical CG PPT seller honestly thinks his used firearm is actually worth more than a new one for some reason or if he's just desparately searching for the greater fool...

If you havent noticed, we're in the beginning of a deflationary depression, a particularly nasty one I might add, every day you wait your "stuff" is worth less. CASH is KING in this scenario. Just wait till mortgage rates get back up over 7,8,9% The real foreclosure tsunami has even started yet...

Actually, many guns are worth more than they were new due to them not being made anymore..and being desired. I do not agree that this "sharing" should be allowed... google is available as is gunbroker if you do not know the pricing for a gun...also, not all guns are Cali legal...so if its in Cali and you want it..you're gonna pay. Just buy your guns at turners and be done with it if you don't like how it works here, no one is forcing you to buy it. Before you start thread crapping, maybe you can be on this forum for a little longer.

LOL... seems like the OP created this thread to vent (or to put his own 'thread crapping' posts in here) since he can't find a gun that he wants a a price he's willing to pay for. If you don't like what you see, get over it and move on. Making thread-crapping posts are basically jealous hater attemps to make the seller look bad because he won't sell to you at the price you want.

And if a seller says "firm" on the price, the price is ALWAYS negociatable. I don't know how many times a seller has said firm price and I sent them a PM to negociate a different price or offer. Sending them a PM allows you to work privately with them, and in most cases is much better to deal than to have your offer out on the table (shown in the thread). Otherwise you may see somebody send the seller a PM with a slightly better offer than yours, and the seller goes with the (before you commit to your current offer). And if the seller doesn't want to budge, then wait a little bit and see if the item still hasn't sold. Chances are at that time the seller might be willing to budge in price. But if somebody comes in and buys it at the price you didn't want to pay, then you're just out of luck and need to continue your search.

Just venting.
Remember this rule - 90% of gun owners think their junky guns are 'rare' or better than everyone else's junk (for really stoopid personal reasons). This is the result of ignorance and inexperience.

No matter what you say they can not be convinced otherwise.

Let them take their precious crap with them to the grave.

If you really see them "going" for that price, then that's the "going" price and you are just out of touch. But if you are really just seeing them listed at that price and not selling, then you still have nothing to be angry about. That just means the seller is out of touch and his stuff will never sell.

If somebody listed their used Ruger 10/22 for sale at $10,000 you probably wouldn't get angry. You would probably just laugh at them. But if they listed it for sale at $500 I'll bet you would get angry. Why? It won't sell at either price. So why not just laugh when you see stuff listed too high and move on.
