    Thread crapping

Sometimes I wish it wasn't frowned upon, the only reason I look at lcp used $599+ ads anymore is for hope that somebody is crapping. Am I the only one?

I feel your pain man but I think overall it's for the best.

A good price can be a very subjective matter. If TC was allowed, you as a seller might have to drop your price below the norm just to please everybody. And not get TC'd upon.

Also, imagine trolls galore. As a seller, things would suck for sure. It would be chaos and a headache trying to do business in CG. So in a way, this rule keeps things civil.

So if you don't like the price, move on. Don't ruin it for the seller as well as the next buyer. Afterall, the transaction requires both parties to come to an agreement. No one's holding a gun over your head.

I'd rather have the option of buying an item at a high price than not having any option to buy the item.

The OP is complaining about one of the rules for the Marketplace here, which does not allow you to negatively comment on an item for sale. In this case, he seems to have a hard time containing his ability to comment negatively on prices of off-roster or hard to get firearms which are too highly priced, in his mind.

I've been modded for offering to buy something at a lower price. lol

Was on the market place for a while with no bites for over 2 weeks.

$60 for a shotgun shell holder. (plastic box, empty)

I asked if he would go (3) for $20, but my post got deleted.

So I guess I've been guilty of thread crapping, but I assumed offering a fair price would be fine. Now I know better.

If you're really interested in bargaining send the seller a PM rather than do it out in the open, especially if it's a lowballer reach.

It makes you look less of a jerk

Several days later the bolt was rusted shut but I guess the fouling wasnt TOO bad.

                      Re: Thread crapping

To be clear I have never made a negative comment. But I have seen used pistols going for twice the price of new. That sucks. I understand the reasons for not allowing TC, maybe I am misplacing my anger. I should be more angry at the roster, and less at the people taking advantage of their ability to buy off list. Just venting.

Who cares? Why do you feel the need to talk trash/thread crap? What deep seeded issue do you have that you cannot just read then move on? I suppose if thread crapping was allowed, then the OP should be allowed to tell said crapper to f off, stick it in his/her azz and mind their own f'ing business.

                          Re: Thread crapping

Did not mean to make you mad, just interested in buying a specific type of pistol and don't think it is worth twice the price of new, so I just keep looking. After a while I just wish somebody could say "really?" in the thread. On the other hand the market will decide the value, not the original price. If they are willing to lower the price, then I would make an offer.

I am all for the no TC rule...if I'm at a store and see something overpriced, I wouldn't run around the place yelling "Hey, watch out! You can get this cheaper somewhere else!" I would either try to bargain with a salesman one-on-one or take my business elsewhere...

And when it comes to off-roster stuff, unless you're exempt, what other alternative do you have? Either forget about it, or pony up the dough...
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
                            Come on...what harm??

I can see not outright bashing a seller, but if the item is flat out overpriced, I think you should be able to comment. I also hate gouging, yes it's the American way, doesn't make it a good thing either. That said I have no desire to get banned so I try and follow the rules. Just like I follow the law no matter how F'ing stupid it may be.
