I'd like to add one to the list

"Don't hit the deck if/when a cleark covered head to toe in prison style tattoos points a gun at you shortly after explaining how to insert the clip into a 1911."

Happened to me yesterday at my first (and last) visit to Turner's Kearny Mesa store while doing a FTF ammo deal. Employee's name was [actually, I don't really think its fair to mention this publically]. I might also add, coming from a largly involved tattoo background, I can spot the difference between prison ink and sloppy homedone work..

Lets face it, theres terrible customers and terrible dealers.. theres also a simple solution for both instances. If you don't like your customers, envoke your right to refuse service. If you don't like the clerks, don't shop at that particular store. Not much reason to continue discussing it IMO.

        No kidding.

I would have walked to the back door, stood there acting like I was on the phone while looking at the guy and nodding... then changed the expression on my face, hung up, then gone back to him, shown him the questions on the forms, and told him that he was not qualified because he was an "addicted or unlawful user"

Absolutely. There are plenty of guns within a certain price range. Most people dont mind paying a little more for a better quality gun but to simply steer someone towards a gun thats 2x or more as much as what they initially loked at is ridiculous. i can see if its a complete POS gun but then if its that much of a POS why do you carry it in the store. Usually you can tell what someone is willing to purchase and price they are comfortable with

Fortunately, I never had to tell them I couldn't sell the gun because they didn't try to buy it. They looked at the Draco pistol and drooled for a bit, but then left after a few minutes on their own.
wow! the worst I have had is walking through the trail they laid when they came through the doors. I felt like a hound dog following the scent.

              In one word: Profit

Store buys it cheap and then sells it at a "cheap" price to you.

Not sure i agree with your dress code, 21 year olds will be 21 and probably dress according to there fashion, sound like your stereotyping people based on how they look or dress, i bet if they pull out a wad of cash and are serious about buying from you, you will forget they have there underwear showing.

I agree with the no swathing the gun policy or chasing you around the store with the muzzle end, i also agree with respecting your rules on how to handel the firearm, ask before you can drop the trigger etc.

Dont agree with you on the people making noises when aiming a gun, thats just your pet peeve, really it doesnt make them a danger and it doesn't harm anyone, if you were to tell me not to do that while i was holding a gun of yours, i would not buy from you and would think your been draconian in your shop manner, and thats putting it nicely.

Im 43 and yes ive made some sort of noise perhaps very low but for me its just an extension of getting to feel the gun and imagine shooting it, its called going through the motions or just simply a bit of imagination. Now if i was to run wildly around your shop floor with one of your guns, making pew pew noises then yes send me on my way or call the police. But calmly doing it while looking down the sights of a gun or rifle is just harmless imagination.

Slapping a gun thats a new one to me, what exactly is slapping a gun.

And honestly i can only think of a handful of gun stores from the many i have visited that really talk to a patron with the respect and patients that one would find normal in any other kind of business.

Have you seen the threads on gun store employees with terrible customer service its ripe.

                      Dress code:
It is also based on actions, you could come in dressed like a thug and be the most polite person and we wouldnt think anything different, come in dressed like a thug and acting like a thug, well then yeah we might "see" you a little differently.

Making Noises while holding the firearm:
This is another one. As you described, I find it perfectly inline for you to do so. But in some cases depending on the actions of the person leading up to and after, it can bring to mind the question of mental stability.

                      Ripe customer service threads:
Yes, I have seen some of those threads and some of them are not allways the fault of the employee, sometime the costumer can "cause" (for a lack of a better word) the bad service.
I have witnessed the "bad service" at other stores, I come home later and read about that "bad service" only to find out it has been alltered to make the store look bad because the customer didnt get the answer they wanted.

                      Slapping the firearm:
Well, its just that, holding the firearm in one hand and slapping it with the other...

Might want to just edit your OP to say "Don't act like a hoodlum."

Also, gun store workers, just because I don't look like a gun owner doesn't mean I don't own guns or know about them. I've walked out of multiple stores now for being judged by my dress.

As for customers - I intensely dislike bravado PROFANITY with BS stories about one's fireams skills. It is a sure sign of an incompetent gun owner.

Sales personnel - PLEASE do not tell me what I "need". ASK ME what I am interested in and let's go from there. DO NOT try to impress me with newly acquired knowledge of a product I do not care about.

Above all, common courtesy and a low-key attitude is always appreciated.
