I just watched it. It is actually three different shots. #1 goes up into the air, #2 is fired from the shoulder, and #3 is fired from the hip. It may be an editing screw-up, but three separate shots were filmed.

Also just noticed that Holliday/Kilmer used his two Colt Peacemakers to fire at least 16 rounds without reloading.

on one of the first pages someone mentioned grenade with super devastating abilities. most of the time explosions are actually portrayed to be much less than they should be. in almost every war movie, grenades or mortars have to be a direct hit to hurt anybody. these are indirect weapons with a kill radius and cusualty radius. off the top of my head, jarhead, and home of the brave.

"Bubba" is what he and his ugly and ruined rifle really are.
First you are chopping up historic vintage rifles and sticking them in cheap and nasty looking plastic "dildo" stocks that look like some kind of futuristic sex toy that gay space aliens stick up each other's butts.

What's your opinion of FMJ? I know R.Lee was brought in as a consultant, given the role, and Kubrich let him go off-script for most of the drills, but what about the actual battlefield scenes? Realistic, worse, or sanitized?

Honestly, I can't imagine what it can be like in that environment, especially in the WWx through the Vietnam days when we didn't have GPS.

well its not really a diss but shortcoming of the budget. they can't really afford to go to those exotic locations... especially for a low rated network like CBS.

bigger than I thought, but yet you don't see much from them in terms of programming except Survivor and a few other shows.

back to topic..... was watching "Shooter" again, and in the scene where mark and pena visits that old dude that knew tons about guns.... pena was wearing a Che Guevara t-shirt

I enjoyed shooter; I mean I watched it expecting an action movie and it preformed admirably but still there was so man fails. When Marky is on a row boat and shoots some goons that are holding Pena hostage he is using a water bottle filled with sand as a silencer. He makes three shots with it but some how none of the sand leaks out?

Like I said, it's poor editing. He shoots the guy, who falls down, then it cuts to the same guy getting shot again and falling down again. It's meant to be the same shot even if it isn't.

And everyone knows Doc Holliday had specially made 8-shot Peacemakers.

Most of the common ones have been covered. My latest pet peeve was in Zombieland where Woody Harrelson's character "Tallahassee" is showing "Little Rock" (the younger girl) how to shoot.

He has an 1892 Mare's Leg of some sort (Original, Puma, Chiappa, Rossi, whatever) in an unspecified caliber (.44-40, .45 long colt, .357, .44 Mag, heck .454 Casull would be in keeping with the character).

She has what looks like a Taurus 62 or 72, maybe a real deal Win 1890. In any case, it is a .22 of some sort.

Now I don't care whether the .22 would work on zombies, but when they shoot them side by side, the report is more or less identical. The reason this annoys me so much is not because it is unrealistic (it is, but... umm, well its a friggin zombie movie ). The whole scene is this cutesy big bad Talahassee character showing the little girl how to shoot scene. Making his gun big and loud and her gun sound like the tin can popper it is would actually be better for the friggin scene! They miss an entire aspect where the little girl could have a comically small report from the gun but kill the zombies with well placed shots with her new found marksmanship gained while shooting with Tallahassee. Making the gun more realistic would have added comedic value for f**ks sake.
                              grr

don't think its sand you place in the bottle. the items in the bottle didn't as much move when he was ripping it off. looked more like cloth which would make more sense since the bullet had to travel through it.

plus the sand would have all just poured into his barrel when he was taking it off since he had the gun pointed up.
