It's missing the FA controls if it's an M2...

      Unless I"m completely mistaken...

If it were an M2 it would be a first priority restoration project .

That was fast. I thought it might be an M1 but I wasn't sure. My internet hasn't been working so I haven't tried to look up any info and I figured that someone here would know the answer. Thanks guys.

It looks to be a Universal M1 Carbine. The Oprod is not milspec. If there are two oprod springs side by side it is a late model 3rd Gen Universal. The mag well is aluminum correct?

It has Zero value except for maybe cool, look what I found!

                Is that restoreable? Awesome!
I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Definetly m1 carbine. See if you can make out any of the info on the heel of the receiver. Drop that thing in a pail of oil for a month and see if it starts to loosen up.

Make a sweet wall hanger. I want!!

It's easy to pull blood off of even old rusted metal. I used to date a chick who was a CSI and she started telling me about it. I can call her up and ask for specifics if y'all are interested...

Yes it's a late-model Universal M1 Carbine. Previous owner probably threw it away in disgust.

If it is a Universal, and I bet it is, it is a commercial copy built in Florida in the 70s and is of mediocre quality. The only USGI parts are the front and rear sights, and the magazine. If you found the 15 round magazine it's good to go for a rebuild kit!
