First thought was M1 Carbine. Anyway it could be a Mini 14?

      Yep. Those Universal carbines stink.

As it wasn't inside anything to preserve it, I would probably contact the authorities about it. It was hidden, not to be dug up (at some later SHTF time), but forgotten.

It has Zero value except for maybe cool, look what I found!
Yes it has side by side springs and the mag well is aluminum. I also took this pic after we found the mag the next day. It wasn't buried very deep either. Only about 6 inches.

You need to start a "What to do with my gun artifact" poll.

            A. Decorative Lamp
            B. Coat Hanger
            C. Gun you turn in "When they come for them"
            D. Restoration Project
            E. Rebury, "I saw nothing..."

            etc.

            B.

Notice the oprod and bolt are halfway retracted like it failed or jammed. That carbine was broke when it was buried.

                    That's no Mini-14

Look at the Mag setup. The entire setup of the receiver is different.

Is there any history that you're aware of to the location of your home?

You need to call the police and turn it over.

That's a perfect *buyback* gun. Maybe you'll get the extra green for an AW!
