So, about $16.99 a box then? I remember not so long ago when they were $8.99 a box......man, that seems like centuries removed from now.

At my local Wal-Mart, I did see that they had 9mm (looked like about 10 boxes or so) and wanted $16.97 for them! I balked because my conception of 9mm was that it should be $12 or less.

Maybe I should have stocked up!

I have seen .223 become more available lately, but I didn't check the prices because I don't have a .223 gun. I haven't seen .45acp on sale at Wally for quite some time.

I can still buy 100 packs of 12 gauge target ammo, though, and that's relatively inexpensive, at $22.97 a box of 100 IIRC, so maybe I'll just stock up on that. Once Obama get reelected in 2012, smoothbore weapons might be the only civilian-legal arms available, just like in Russia.

I must have really good ammo karma because I find ammo all the time at WM. If I'm looking for something that WM doesn't carry, I'll order it online.

There's no shortage of ammo in NorCal, Most of our local shops are well stocked with ammo. Now if you want it for WM prices that's a different story, but you can still find reasonably priced ammo if you shop around.

I know you still have to pay tax at the gun shows, but at least you're not having to pay a buttload for shipping.

Argreed, I bought a case of 9mm (winchester) from Miwall for $200 before Xmas. I've seen 223 in bulk all over Sacto and 5.56 for $75 200rnds at Wsport and Cabelas... The pistol ammo is a bit tougher but not much.. I don't need any more ammo but may buy some 556 and 762x39.

When President Pelosi is sworn in in January of 2017, there won't be a shortage because everyone on CGN will be summarily executed and all guns and ammunition confiscate.
