When will the ammo shortage end?

.....in other words: when will I be able to stroll into Walmart and buy Federal 550 packs without any concern of seeing an empty self, like in the good 'ol days?

Personally, I don't think it's ever going to end. This is the new normal.

Just think - there are more gun owners in America than ever before, and they need ammo. As things get worse into 2010, I expect there to be even more gun owners too, increasing the demand for ammo yet again.

But that is also scare, and now, also expensive. In fact, wouldn't most of you agree that .223 is the second scarcest rifle ammo?

Today I was in California Police Equipment (619) 280-1199; they had all the popular calibers by the case. I asked about .380 and they just got in 10,000 rounds of Winchester white box. Prices are going down since ammo is becoming more available.

when did they start that? i have never seen it in the 20+ yrs. i have been in.

Since ammo is so hard to find nowadays everybody is shooting less and the cheapest ammo to shoot is obviously the 22lr so guess which one has very high demand? BTW besides 22 I think 45 is the next most popular round in demand and then closely behind is the 223.
