Send it all to me next month.

This is just my opinion but if I was in your situation I would want everything to be set up soon so in the future it's as easy and as Safe as possible for my wife.
That probably means an firearms auction business (rather than her dealing with multiple different Calgunners online that to her are strangers) or preferably two or three auction houses, that you've already found, that you trust or at least get a good vibe/ good reputation/ good reviews and most likely will be still open for business in the future. Get a contact name, as high up in their ladder as you can get, at those auction houses and personally I would go one step further and have/instruct more than 2 or 3 younger friends or family members that you both completely trust do all the necessary things to make it super easy for her, like watching over transactions/ heavy lifting/ and in the unlikelihood that it's a cash to you your friend will either carrying the money until they get back to your home or until they reach her bank so she can deposit it. (You never know who's noticing cash transactions.. but) I think most auction houses will just give her a check once everything is sold and they take their cut.
Just get someone you trust because your wife is probably going to be a bit stressed or possibly distraught dealing with these items that she knows you have a connection too, even if they weren't her type of thing.

I would love to see your collection of any size get top dollar for you right here but unless you know someone you trust completely (maybe two or three people like that to be safe) other than your wife, who is willing and able and promising to go through the hassle of listing them all here, dealing with the scam artist and flakers, setting up arrangements at multiple ffls and also coordinating with your wife's schedule to make sure your wife is there to sign anything necessary if needed... etc. ... I'm not sure that's the easiest method for her.

Never thought of that but I have always thought to hand them down to my future kids and hoping that they pass them down to their kids.

I've given this some thought as well. I have a wife thats in the least interested,in my hobby. She and my Sister-in law are one of the same. they have both threatened to have a yard sale and sell them for at least .50 cents.
I do have an Adult Daughter that is quite responsible, and who I have spent time at the range with(shootin Buddy). I left her in charge of taking my Guns when I leave this earth. She has my Son-law who also likes guns and would apprieciate them. The only thing I worry about are my battle rifles, multi-mags, and the guns that ive owned thru the early years when all you needed was your word, a hand shake and Cash +carry, before Kalifornia became a Commie state. I too, will do a spread sheet so They know what I have and approximate value, maybe a recorded document giving a lil history and some of my favorites. Damn, I wish I could take a few with me

I was sorting through the storage unit today and ran across a bin of gun books. I searched current values and found results between $20-$950 with an average of approx $200 ish with a total of around $3-3.5K

Asked the wife "Hey if I had died what would you have done with those books?"

I made out my will leaving all of my artillery to be given or kept by my 4th daughter. She will say who gets what if I cross Jordan before the big flight to the Pearly Gates. There is a coded safe combo in my will.

Yeah, these guys are first rate. I've bought quite a few guns from them and I've seen some of their auctions go past market value. If you have a collection, particularly a large and/or valuable one, they'll get you or your estate top dollar.

I expect to pass down some of my guns. But I doubt they'll want them all. Particularly after another 40-50 years of collecting.

i believe in something like reincarnation, or the next life, maybe even heaven.

to me, there are only 2 possibilities.

                                1. oblivion following death, where we cease to exist entirely when the physical body expires.
                                2. something else. some other form of conscientiousness (the next "life").

and since i don't believe it is possible to experience oblivion, the only possibility for me after death is something else.

as far as what happens to your schiff when you die...who cares?
