I guess back when I joined there were not many scammers. I had my share of people that flaked on committing to a sale that cost me $$ but not a huge amount.

As others has stated be patient and work up to where less will think "scammer"

The idea of picking up a few accessories that can be shipped is great to build your trader score. Find a couple items you can use and get a feedback score to your name and this will all be mute. Since it's likely electronic payment the seller should have no concern if a new buyer was to flake.

While I do prefer people with trader scores I've bought and sold lots from people brand new to the site. Honestly, some of the best money I got for my stuff was from new people who just really wanted that one specific item

There were less scammers back then.
We had a bigger problem with spammers at the time.

I’ve seen how the members here treat new comers. I have gone ahead and edited posts, and requested a user name change so as to not offend anyone. My apologies for offending anyone. The blatant upfront rudeness in forums is why most are defensive to start. I’ll try a new approach and work on some of the advice some of you gave. Thanks again and safe shooting

Hey I like the new user name

It is not easy being a new user here, it can be a trial by fire. We are defensive here because we have scammers, spammers, bots, DU trolls, DOJ plants etc lurking about and joining every day. Sometimes the only way to separate them from legit new users is to give 'em a good shove and see what happens.

Be careful posting in the WTB subforum. A lot of scammers are working there.
