Taking a trip down memory lane

Never bought one til I was like 28. Ended up going with a Glock 36 - I fell for the "bigger hole = better" thing. Who cares if it only holds 6+1, it had .45acp stopping power!

Anyways, it was fun for a short time but it quickly fell out of favor as I collected more/better guns. For the last few years it's been sitting in the safe collecting dust, but I'll probably never sell it. Every once in a while when I have some .45acp ammo to burn, I'll swap its slide onto my G29 frame and make a nifty little G30S sort of thing.

Wait, I forgot that was techincally my 2nd gun. My first is a single-shot .140 Iver Johnson break action, made in 1918. My grandpa got it new on his 12th birthday, probably hadn't been shot once in over 60 years before I got it. I take it out every now and again, it shoots great still!

Didn’t need any guns when I turned 18 as I had a gifted 870 and a nylon 66. My older brother bought a Colt SP1 and a Colt Trooper. So I shot all those. When I got married and bought my 1st house around 1980, I bought my own Colt Trooper MkIII , 6” bright nickel ($239)Guess that’s the 1st one I actually bought.

First gun was a Beretta 92 from Turners for $429. Shortly after I bought a Colt Match Target rifle from Code 3 USA in Alhambra (who here remembers them?)

Many many moons ago when I turned 18, I walked into my local Kmart. I filled out the 4473, payed $39.95 and walked out with an H&R single shot 12 ga.. I still have it.

1st shotgun grandpa gave me @14 a Higgins 16ga bolt action, 1st rifle dad gave me @ 16 a Savage '95 lever 25-35. 1st rifle I bought was a M77 Ruger 7mm mag and first pistol was a Colt Series 70 Gold Cup National Match around 1980. Still have them all!

well its tricky the first gun i bought was this one time me and my uncle were at a gunshow they had chinese sks for $99 i was only 17 and a half so he bought 2 also bought a lorcin 380 for $99 as well
the first gun i filled out the 4473 was a 10/22 it was $135 new, ruger 10/22 the gateway gun

I bought a Mannlicher Carcano carbine in 7.35 Terni from a customer at my dad's gas station In Delano CA and don't remember How old I was, for $ 12 and it didn't last long. Next a Revelation ( Marlin ) semi auto 22lr when I was about 17 from the Western Auto store. Many more since then. My fave of all of them is my BAR 7mm Mag made in Belgium. I got it from a vendor in the long gone Pleasanton gun show when I found it for sale for $ 399 at table of various rifles. I asked the guy what's wrong with this gun ? Nothing he said, why he said, I replied why is it so cheap ? I am tired of bring it back and forth from L.A. he said to which I said SOLD.

In 1974 I wanted a good semi-auto 12 gauge. I saved my money and read all of the gun magazines. I decided on a Winchester Super X Model 1. I was still a minor, so my mom took me to the gunstore and I bought it. It cost me $330. I still have it.
