I understand the frustration. Keep in mind that this is a big part of the left's goal and exactly what they are trying to do...to make things such a monumental pain in the *** that people just give up and stop trying.

We can't let them win. Not ever.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
ATF Form 4473: If a frame or receiver can only be made into a long gun (rifle or shotgun), it is still a frame or receiver, not a handgun or long gun.

The leftists have done a pretty good job of making our hobby more difficult to enjoy, but it's my observation that these cycles of boom or bust based on whoever happens to be at the helm in the White House have seriously disrupted my enjoyment.

And the terrible thing is, it's not really them, it's us. It's firearms owners who create shortages for no good reason, and those of us who don't hoard or flip all eventually pay the price.

For years I used to enjoy going out to gun stores and pawn shops looking for interesting finds. I hardly ever do that anymore simply because of the environment that shooters have created based on crazy panic driven impulse buying.

Frankly, I've just become sick of it.

The internet is my new gunstore. Not sure how it is now but for about two years the gun stores have been dried up on supply, and most the stores are staffed by grumpy jerks I'd prefer to deal with as little as possible. Having them do the paperwork is one thing. Having them tell me why I do or don't want something or give me bad information about what is or is not legal is not my bag. So I browse here, Gunbroker, and a few California friendly sites. The inventory is better anyway.

Man, you are depressing to listen to. And honestly it's quite annoying. How many of these do you post a year?

Us younger guys still keep on going. I continue to spread the 2A to any newcomer that i see is interested. Please stop spreading your negativity. We haven't given up on life....

I totally get it OP. There's no ammo left to buy unless you want to be financially raped. Many times I'm terrified to take firearms out in public for whatever reason. I only shoot on private property. I would never go to a public range. I can relate to what you're saying. It wouldn't be that way if I was in free America.

                    Not this post again. Lol
I understand the point the OP makes, however, owning firearms has never before in the history of this country been more important as a responsibility. Some folks consider it a hobby or an interest and that's fine, the rest of us will pull up the slack.

Nothing brightens up a day more than a warm springtime session on one of my favorite BLM shooting spots. All green with flowers everywhere, it's heaven on earth.

Using democrat roadside campaign signs is even more fun. Don't get mad, get even.

I remember a time when it was socially acceptable for men to show off their firearms. I don't recall the last time I experienced that in California. I miss the times when we could buy and trade firearms at a gun show. I don't dare put an NRA sticker on my truck, if I do it is almost a certainty that it will be vandalized. Ammo is in short supply and costly. Thankfully, I stocked up when ammo was reasonably priced. I have a few friends that I go shooting with and we go weekly. The best times that I have had involved going shooting or hunting with friends.

I just came home form a friends house. I had her 23 yr old and 21 yr old daughters working for me last year during the riot/covid peak. They both helped me speed up my retirement by a decade. I gave the 21 yr old a 22 handgun as a gift last year since she did most of the work. The 24 yr old got hooked on guns and bought a 22 pistol and rifle for herself. As I was walking out she got excited and told me to wait so she could show me her new handgun. SHe showed me a little Tiffany 9mm. I felt pretty good that i got the two girls into guns.

I'm not big on guns. After selling and handling thousands plus shooting anything I want it takes a really special gun to sparkle my eyes. My 16 yr old loves guns and owns more than me. I just bought him a 100 yr Henry Golden Boy 44mag Eagle Scout edition since he will be finishing his project soon. I am happy with 1 open carry pistol, 1 super subcompact pocket pistol, one AR15, and 1 single shot shotgun. I am selling off almost everything else.

When I lived in CA I had other hobbies. My guns stayed home. Range time was 2 or 3 times a year. IN Az I can shoot anytime. I keep eyes and ears with extra ammo in my car. I was out mudding near my house yesterday and just pulled out my carry gun and shot it into the hill from inside my truck. No big deal.
