    Thrill is gone

My guns are no longer a hobbie. i only have them now for protection. The left in this country has found ways to take the fun out.
The history channel used to have many gun related shows on the TV.
I almost never see NRA stickers or other gun related decals on rear windows of cars & trucks.
If i lived in another gun friendly state it would be different but i am still in CA.
Ten years ago i could go into a Big 5 and pick out a nice old millitary firearm and take it home in 10 days. Also i could trade or buy a old C&R on the spot private party. Ammo was not a problem and cheap.
that was what i enjoyed doing.
that train has left the station never to return. I still go out and shoot with my son in law a couple of times a year but i no longer buy or look at guns for sale.

Yeah its not a great feeling being in an occupied state . That said California still has lots of great public shooting ranges where we enjoy the sport of Free People .
I suggest you join a public range and meet the best people California has .
You will also see NRA stickers frequently and of course practicing drills and marksmanship could be a life prolonging endeavor, besides being lots of fun.

It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

I’m not and never have been a gun guy. I think all the hunting I did as a kid and my time in the Marines pretty much ruined me on firearms.

That said, I own a quite a few and I still enjoy hunting. I shoot enough to keep my skills sharp, but I never go out to just “shoot” or plink.

Me neither, to be honest. I only shoot because somewhere in the back of my mind I feel I have to maintain a certain level of competency even though what I do for living does not require it.

                  Where?

Quit a 20 year career so one can go shooting a bit more?

For me whats dead is the buy/sell/trade aspect of it and I no longer see them as investments. Glad I reduced/consolidated when I did.

I still visit this sight but don't feel compelled to argue like I used to.

There's a lot more to anyone's life than shooting!

Shooting doesn't have to be a hobby for everyone. It's not possible for everyone to enjoy the same things. Nor is it possible for everyone to have the time and/or money to shoot frequently.

What is important is that we remain dedicated to the principle that firearm ownership is a fundamental right that needs to be protected.

I'd rather have a gun owner that owns a single gun and understands why, than some Fudd that owns 100 and thinks we need "common sense gun control. Because they're responsible but "someone" should decide who can or can't own them.

As an American and a Marine NCO I love guns, shooting guns talking guns and of course the gun culture .

I also admire and honor the brave marksmen who fought and defeated the worlds most powerful military force. The end result was a constitution written to limit the power of government and give citizens an effective way to survive and stop plans of genocidal powers, who frequently have gained power through legitimate and illegitimate means.

I cannot understand how a Marine would not enjoy shooting, guns , the gun culture , or the proud history of every Marine being 1st a Rifleman.

Then again I was not drafted and chose the Marines. As an aside US Marines are the only branch where NCOs may wear Swords .

They show what makes them money. No different than any other cable channel.

People don’t wanna advertise. I know I don’t. Even if I was in a red state I wouldn’t advertise. Nobody’s business, Especially strangers. I don’t put any political statements on my vehicles. Truthfully there are a lot of crappy people who will vandalize yiur car because of your beliefs. .

Then it’s best to move. That’s what I’m doing. Tired of the Ca bs so I’m voting with my wallet and leaving .

Choices we make. I personally will keep buying guns if the right price comes along. I wait for sales. I just picked up a SKS,

                              .

We all make choices. Most people have multiple reasons why they stay or move. Jobs, personal rights, pay, housing, cost of living, family, grandkids, etc. i don’t think anyone moves strictly for gun rights as the only reason to uproot the family and move.

I’m moving because I’m tired of paying the huge taxes I’m paying as a punishment for being successful. And 8 know there are people who are paying more than I am. It took a while to convince my wife but we’re finally doing some moves. It’s gonna be a while as I can’t just up and quit, but it’s gonna happen.
