The next two things on my fun list are putting the Timney trigger in a G17 MOS and sending my stock CZ SP-01 to CGW finally.

As an all steel gun it will be better as a precision firearm than any polymer, and with it's DA/SA it has the safety functions that 1911 might lack in some eyes, but once in SA mode it's trigger can be on par with a nice 1911.

So when you use a CZ in Production divisions it's sort of a no brainer over a Glock.

However, with a Timney trigger the gap between CZ and Glock is greatly narrowed. Yes, the CZ will still have the upper hand, but now the price difference and performance difference with a Timney Glock make the Glock a good price choice for not much performance deficit.
        FIFY.

And the 2011 is still the choice of most USPSA shooters in Limited and Open divisions. For no specific reason, as there's nothing about the Tactical Sport that keeps it from performing at the same level, at a much lower price point. But for whatever reason, dudes aren't shooting them in Limited or Open in any significant numbers.

Really, a more interesting topic would be CZ VS either one of these.

To me, CZ VS 1911 could have lots of twists and maybe dredge some new ground without making too huge of a dumpster fire.

CZ 75 SAO, CZ Tac Sports, CGW SA SP-01, PCR, etc... maybe even get more into 2011's and how they would compare to the modded CZ's.

Personally, two guns I have passed on really pursuing when I had a good chance to buy them were a Les Baer TRS and a CZ Tac Sports 9mm. I would enjoy either one, but only really regret not getting the CZ.
The whole this vs that with different guns, ammo or anything else is a never ending nonsense.

You can't get past the mindset of those who think all history and anything that ever happened, was built or made before the date of their birth is irrelevant, old and just not as good as "modern anymore than you can convince the other one that while beating metal into a useable form is great, can make things that last and even have character that sometimes there are better ways to do the same thing.

Its like arguing with someone who thinks what they see on Youtube is really what most other people think is mainstream on the one hand and telling the 105 year old guy that his chewing tobacco will cause mouth cancer on the other.

Let Go of the Status Quo!

Don't worry, it will never pass...How in the hell did that pass?

Think past your gun, it's the last resort, the first is your brain.

Defense is a losing proposition when time is on the side of the opponent. In the history of humanity, no defense has ever won against an enemy with time on their side.

It is mostly redundant, but it is interesting to hear people's stories of how their tastes or thinking evolved. Some people do evolve. Most people do. Technology always does.

Yeah, there is more dumpster fire than revelation sometimes, but I usually learn new things every time we have one of these threads. It may not be on the larger "topic" but in the details or tangents. I think it is a forum staple.

I would say that the stock trigger, maybe with a few buffs of Flitz, is more than capable of M/GM level hit factors in USPSA… And even with non-reloaded factory ammo.

Is not necessary I guess. I have never put much polishing effort into seeing what a stock 5.5 pound or whatever connector will feel like. I do however feel a DRASTIC difference from a standard Glock connector compared to a TTI Grand Master or Zev V4 Race. I have a Gen4 G17 that has a Minus connector in it IIRC... and i cannot wait to get that wonky feeling thing out of there TBH... feels like a cheap light switch to me. They vary... I have Gen3's with only a connector that I would never change... with good enough pull and awesome resets. I might sound picky but I am not that picky... We are talking $15 connectors, so...

As far as the Timney... it is a $150 trigger and I want to try one. I do not need it, no. By all accounts it is a real step ahead in Glock triggers.

                    "Necessary", no.

A really good idea, yes. In my opinion anyway.

Glock triggers are garbage. Glock sights, same.

A really nice, or even moderately nice trigger won't make you a Grand Master, but it will make shooting more fun. It does for me anyway.

But if you want to shoot "Perfection" as it comes out of the box, have at it. I used to shoot with a guy in Richmond who shot box stock Glock 17 and bought a Glock 34 only because he wanted a couple of extra magazines, and figured he might as well get a spare gun too. He's a Master class shooter, so again, it's the shooter, not the arrow.

Oh no.You mean, a lot of those things I see on youtube are NOT mainstream??

Like those guys doing urban warfare make-believe training...with their tough-guy look, long beard, dark fancy eye wear, combat fatigue and boots, shooting super fast then glancing to the left then to the right????

I guess, everything was a prelude.....so they can do that part.

Everytime I don't flip around and run backwards to check my six... I get blasted in CS:GO so I better do that move.

Real shooters recognize it as a sign you're not just a gamer.
