I just sold off my last Strat the other day. I've played Teles forever and just never could bond with Strats. I moved out to CA about 6 yeas ago with like 18 guitars and a bunch of vintage Fender amps. Sold nearly all of it when I was on a mission to pay off all my worldly debt. Crushed $87k in under 3 years and loving life now. Payng cash for grad school, no car payment, just rent and school. Still ahve a really nice Tele, a really nice 2008 SG Classic (P90's), P Bass and few acoustics (J45, D18 and a Waterloo WL-k). I dont play in a band anymore and 99% of the time I reach for one fo the acoustics and can pretty much cover anything I want with what I have currently with no need or desire for anything else.

I've found over the years shoeing less stuff is more liberating for sure.

Yea I could never get with Strats either. Sounds like you have a nice amp collection. I'm looking to building a 5e3 combo. Yea guitars are some real cool gear man. I had some rockstar gear, Soldano, VHT, BC Rich...I still have an ESP Custom. Good for you to get out of debt. That stuff sucks man. It's no fun.

Anyways back to guns haaha. Looks like you're on the righ path with shooting and as far as pieces go, keep the ones that make you happy and ditch the rest. I see you're up North, check out the GSSF match in Richmond in August. Its far away in time and distance for me, but I'm entertaining the idea of registering a team and going up there. If I do, I'll pm you. It's way more exciting to win a Glock than to just buy one. When you get bit by that bug, it's all over. Won guns are the best ones!
Man, this place has gone bonkers.

Heck, You can get a brand new Beretta M9 for under $550. That thing will last a VERY long time and is a very well made firearm. Might not have the features or ergs someone wants, but it's quality. Just because it doesn't cost much doesn't mean it's junk. In that example, I'd rather have one M9 than 2 or three Hi Points! But I'd also rather have 2 or 3 G17's than one higher end CZ if it came down to that. To each their own.

I know my comments will probably strike a nerve with some people. That's fine. As a new shooter though it's just way easier to get caught up thinking you absolutely have to have the best of the best. It's so much easier to make excuses and blame your gear for your lack of ability, and is also easier to collect and acquire than it is to actually practice. Much easier to whip out the credit card and buy more stuff and amass a collection than it is to set aside tome to dry practice every day and do the stuff that isn't as fun as actually shooting live ammo, spend money to take classes and be honest with yourself and your abilities, and work toward getting better instead of just having more stuff.
Say what you will about High Point firearms, but they're viable firearms that have been torture tested and performed better than I expected them to.

I think they'd sell more of their guns (High Point) if they built them to use Glock magazines. Especially their pistol caliber carbines. Who doesn't want a reliable gun that costs $200.00, and uses Glock magazines? I'd have one under the back seat of my truck if they used Glock magazines (I'm in Arizona, we can do that here).

All of that said, that's the only way I'd own one of those ugly monstrosities. God they're hideous guns. And when gun prices come back to reality, you'll be able to buy a used Beretta PX4 or XD for $300.00 - $350.00 again.

You need an HK VP9 and the long slide in your collection OP. I would suggest a 2011 but looks like you don't like the 1911 platform.

I take it a step further. Same manual of arms for competition guns and CCW.
