I think you are going to have to eat the cost of the upgraded trigger on your XD. I'd strip it down to the most basic offer, the gun, case and one mag, and offer it for $500, you may have to go down to $400 to get a buyer. Can you reinstall the factory trigger? Typically for upgrades its better to remove them in sell them seperately.

But OP does have it up for sale now with upgrades.

Maybe list two prices; with or without upgrades.

OP, why did you upgrade the XD when you only put one box of ammo through it?

I've never made any internal upgrades to my guns without shooting them a lot first. And then i dont make upgrades to a gun i may consider selling later unless the upgrade would increase its resale value like on a CZ or Beretta. Upgrades to guns like XDs and Glocks are not worth much if anything on secondary market.

I had intentions of using it as my primary handgun for classes then tried something else I liked better during that time. I don't buy things with the intention of selling them, but tastes, wants and needs change. Hoping that's ok with you. I usually always change the sights, and apologize in advance if that's not up to your standards to do that. Get this, since then I've found that I prefer a straight 8 sight picture, so I may even change them out again on the XD at some point. The horror! Changing the trigger was a bit premature, sure, but for $140 it was a huge upgrade and improvement that I still don't regret doing.

I ran my Beretta in classes stock before I made changes to it. I ran my Glock stock in a class before I made changes to it. Ran a 1911 in a class and didn't change a thing on it. Really sorry I disappointed you with this XD though. I'll try harder next time! Live and learn!

It's an inexpensive gun. No big deal if it doesn't sell, and as I mentioned I'm probably just going to keep it. Rather just keep it instead of going through the hassle of uninstalling the trigger and sights to return it to stock. Just gonna keep it as is. It's actually is a fine firearm to shoot and it's very accurate. My world isn't going to fall apart if it doesn't sell, and it's still a great loaner and something to have friends beat on, as a backup to the backup for classes, etc. Lots of options for it.

Nah. looks like nobody is interested in it, and for the hassle of swapping out the sights and trigger I'll just keep it.

Sounds like you like the XD. It is good to have a fun gun. Take it out and run a few hundred rounds through it.

Guess you're "stuck" with it then. Since you wont get what you put into it with the sights, trigger and mags. Honestly, youre lucky if you can get $400 for just the gun. And most people will simply pass on the mags or ask you to throw them in.

Still, I'd rather have the $400 to buy another gun I really want. Thats $400 I dont have to take from my bank account. You do plan to buy another gun, right?

What you spent on it is all sunk cost, consider it history. It doesnt factor into your decision to sell. Now what you need to focus on is what you can get for it. Realistically, $400.

Your potential buyers are going to be cheapskates looking for a killer deal to buy a gun they dont really want and people who really really like XDs a lot. There are a ton of the former, not very many of the latter.

And a lot of people (like me) who already own guns would rather spend their money on ammo right now since prices seem to be coming down a little.

If you do sell it, consider the difference of what you spent on it and what you sold it for, as a "learning" or "rental" fee. Haha, thats what I do.

Probably better to trade it. Find something you want and offer it in trade plus cash on your end to sweeten the offer. You could trade it for something not a gun, like an optic or expensive part.

I'm in the sell it camp. Get another nice Beretta or a nice Sig. I like Glocks just fine but love the Beretta and Sig much more. You'll never regret getting nice guns.

I have an XD Tactical I'm not fond of and this discussion is making me lean toward selling it. Shoots good but there is nothing that grabs me about it.

Sell it and get what you like/want. No point to keeping something you don't like. I've been where you are and believe me keeping meh guns as a loaner sounds better than the wasted space it occupies in the safe. Get what you like, or since it sounds like you have what you like, maybe make the move that'll let you shoot more. Get into loading. Learning to load and understanding exterior and interior ballistics made me a better shooter as well. You have two glocks, thats good and will last a long time of shooting.

If its Glocks you want then don't pay for them. Shoot for them by joining GSSF and shooting the match. There's only a couple in CA anyways. You can also travel and shoot out of state matches. There's even an indoor league. I know LAX range did it a long time ago but I don't know about now. But if you win a category you win a gun. You can win a gun, cash, gear, or membership by random prize even. GSSF loves to give guns away. So there's a goal to practice for and if you beat the crowd then GSSF will fuel your Glock addiction.

Looks like there's more hate for thee XD than there is Glock around here! I've noticed this at Front Sight *** well. Some of the instructors don't mind them. I've even had two Range Maters who carried them during class. Another Range Master wasn't a fan. You do see them a lot in their rental fleet, and I've seen many peopel in class with them and shoot them very well.

I love my Beretta, and ran it better than a lot of people do for their first time in the class, and managed to get through two 4-day classes with it without any bloodshed. I've seen people tear their hands up over the course of 4 days with a 92FS/M9/Brigadeer/M9A1! One day I'll take the gun back and try to DG with it, but for now I do prefer the Glocks for classes. One thing I noticed in classes...nobody really cares about what firearm your using, but you will get more people's attention if you perform and shoot really well. II proved that to myself last couple classes. Used a boring old Gen 3 Glock 17 and scored better than anyone else in the Skill Builder class I attended. All kinds of fancy and/or more expensive guns in that class, expensive HK's, 1911's, Gucci'd out Glocks, P365's and 226's, etc. I was watching a video with Bill Wilson from Wilson Combat yesterday and he was going on about how horrible a stock Glock is and how inaccurate they are, how bad the stock barrels are and to hi they're nearly impossible to shoot out of the box. Only real performance upgrades I did to mine were polish it a little and put Glock minus connectors in them and love them. Everything else like sights and the Vickers mag release are jsut personal preference and don't affect the trigger.

And nobody should worry. Just because I won't be selling the XD doesn't mean I wont be purchasing other firearms. Was jsut trying to be a little more responsible like I am with guitars with the "one in, one out" rule, but guess that won't be happening with firearms!

G&L's are vastly underrated for sure! Congrats!

I just sold off my last Strat the other day. I've played Teles forever and just never could bond with Strats. I moved out to CA about 6 yeas ago with like 18 guitars and a bunch of vintage Fender amps. Sold nearly all of it when I was on a mission to pay off all my worldly debt. Crushed $87k in under 3 years and loving life now. Payng cash for grad school, no car payment, just rent and school. Still ahve a really nice Tele, a really nice 2008 SG Classic (P90's), P Bass and few acoustics (J45, D18 and a Waterloo WL-k). I dont play in a band anymore and 99% of the time I reach for one fo the acoustics and can pretty much cover anything I want with what I have currently with no need or desire for anything else.

I've found over the years shoeing less stuff is more liberating for sure.

If fact I have had issues with mine. Extractor was slipping off cases maybe 2 out of 100-150 rounds. Sent it back and they replaced it. I have only fired it 200 rounds since then and it's done it again at least once so I'm not sure it's fixed. Less than 1k rounds total, very disappointing.

I hate to get rid of it because my wife bought it for me after I mentioned I wanted it and really didn't want to spend the money at the time. More of an issue for me then for her as she doesn't get attached to guns and would likely just see me have something I'm happy with.

I'm now curious about a Glock 17 or 34 but I have never owned one and only shot them a few rounds here and there and didn't shoot them well. But that was before I owned any striker fired guns and now I'm comfortable with them.

No faith in the XD at this point.
