For some reason I equate open carry to cars with the big booming sub woofers.

I always open carry when I can. Oh wait I’m in California, so that means never. I’m really just jealous you have the choice.

Well around here you'd probably associate it with a guy with a chain on his stars n bars wallet driving a 1987 Ford pickup with a "Farm Use" license plate.

I think this is more a not so humble brag thread. "Hey, look, I can open carry!".

Open carry is the gentleman's carry.

Concealed is for gamblers and cheats....or a back-up to open carry.

              That's what I learned in Western's anyways.

But yeh...match the hatch. If you're where open carry scares people, then don't. But a full sized gun tends to promote better shooting should you find yourself in a need to shoot situation.

I have a wallet holster for the LCP.

Naw, growing up in cali I've never had the choice. Just getting feedback from people that have had the choice for awhile.

I open carried in Arizona for 5+ years, open carry saved me from 1 assault, and i saved someone from another assault another time.

If anyone tried to take sneak my Glock 17 i was ready to use lethal force as the state i was in gave me that right.

I went almost everywhere with my Glock and to me it wasn't a mistake to open carry.

That's even true when someone has a "fanny pack" or a "sneaky Pete" which isn't all that sneaky.

Never open carry. Ever. Unless you have no other option.

Ok, how many open carry persons have been shot by the bad guy? This is one of those myths that someone said and it made and keeps making the rounds.

The bad guys aren't looking around for the open carry person or there would be lots of open carry people getting shot.

This has nothing to do with the advantages of OC vs CC or CC vs OC but this myth is beyond old, why do people even bring it up? If you can point to a pattern of OC people being shot by bad guys then please post some evidence to that (not one or two-some real stats) otherwise its just another piece of something someone said and someone else repeated it over and over. Don't just repeat myths.

Anyone with a CA CCW can open carry when visiting certain states. I was open carrying in Texas last week

I also believe the open carry thing is kinda a overblown myth.

You know that you CAN get a CCW in LA County, don't you?

If you don't know that, you should check out the LA County CCW thread and learn the truth.

                                Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
