    Warm weather...open or concealed carry?

Just wondering your thoughts. Thanks. Usually I CC a LCP, but for warm weather I think it might be more comfortable to open carry? New to all this.

What holster do you use and where do you conceal?

Open carry attracts too much unnecessary attention, unless if you are in a community where many others open carry.

CC always gives you a tactical advantage. if a bad guy is going to do bad things, he will make sure that he shoots you first, knowing that you are definitely a threat.

As tasty as carrying around a big 'ol six shooter like I'm John Weasley Harding having it concealed is the way to roll. Well, so I hear cause I'm in LA

I'm out in the county, open carry is not uncommon. I mean it's not like on Gunsmoke or anything, but I see at least one a day. But I live around farmers and ranchers, if I go to breakfast carrying open nobody would bat an eye but I wouldn't do it in the city. I'm not sure what it's like where you moved to Josh. When in Rome...

Not so sure I agree Steve, I think there have probably been more instances where a crook spotted someone carrying and decided to move to an easier gig than the "the bad guy will shoot you first" scenario. Of course I have no way of knowing this, nobody keeps stats on crimes that didn't happen etc, but just a gut feeling. I don't think most people sticking up a liquor store go in thinking there's actually going to be a gun fight.

Or he will see the piece and decide that a couple decades in jail wasn't what he was really looking for, I'll wait until that guy leaves.

To answer the question for me, I carry concealed 98% of the time. Summertime it's a G43 OWB with a shirt pulled over. The ability to open carry pretty much just means I don't worry too much about a print. I also prefer to divert attention elsewhere, but I don't necessarily think open carry is a bad idea. Just not my choice.

I just drop the LCP or DB380 in a pocket holster into my front pocket. Drop an extra mag into the pocket on the other side and call it good.

If you open carry..make sure you wear the CCW sash.

I’d open carry if it was in a area that it wasn’t uncommon. I got a lot of time both ccw and open carry and I prefer open carry for anything Glock 19 and up in size.

But here’s the reality of this. You carry your small, light gun in areas that are safe. It’s comfortable and fits in your pocket. You carry something with a little more capacity in the urban areas but this is where open carry is frowned upon. So as cool as it sounds who wants to lug around an anchor while doing yard work or at the local gas station.

The only point of open carry is when your gun is too big to conceal. Which makes it less comfortable to carry. Get better ccw guns and holsters if cc is uncomfortable. I’d often forget my j frame 442 was in my pocket, it’s that comfy to carry.
