    CCW class says don't carry those, just plain old hollow points that are not broadcasting "kill, kill, kill". And if you're ever in SF they have bans on specific rounds. I think they recommended Gold Dot.

              I like the Speer DEEPCURL bullets.
              I've loaded up some 45 long Colt rounds with these bullets. They're pretty scary
              It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

                That's Mas Ayoob's opinion. What's interesting is that he' unable to cite a case where ammo type was an issue in a good shoot.

                I carry 185 gr. gold dot reloads in the .45.

                  My 9mm guns are either 124g or 147g Federal HST (depends on availability) and my 10mm is 200g HST or Gold Dot, or else 220g underwood hardcasts for camping/hiking

                        Hst 124. Someone did a extensive test on short barrel 9 and all the xtp bullets did the best with Hst near the top. Plus target sports sold the le 50 Rd box for around $30.

                          Currently...
                          .32ACP = Fiocchi 73gr FMJ
                          9x19mm = Speer 124gr Gold-Dot JHP
                          .45ACP = Federal 230gr Hydra-Shok JHP (will be switching to Winchester 230gr Ranger-T SXT JHP, when I finally run out of the Federal amo)

                            Third party testing of the RIP ammo in ballistic gelatin rated to FBI specs have shown that the 9mm RIP ammo has the same penetration and wound channels as high velocity .22LR segmented HP ammo.

                              But lets say you're right. Why do you want to turn a centerfire projectile into a rimfire projectile? Where are the experienced people carrying and recommending RIP ammo? You watch all those dumb review channels on Youtube, is Larry Vickers or John Lovell or whoever you consider an expert recommending RIP over Federal or Speer?

                                Just use the same ammo as carried by your local PD, or the FBI. The R&D budget of the RIP/Lehigh companies that make that ammo is probably equal to the catering budget at Federal/ATK.

                                It's so funny the number of rando CCW guys who don't regularly take training classes and don't compete in action pistol sports think they're so special they're going to carry some weird boutique round in some large caliber, meanwhile the most skilled shooters in the country, whether top competitive shooters or tactical trainers mostly carry pedestrian polymer 9mms loaded with standard 124-147 grain hollow points from Federal/Speer/Hornady. Which coincidentally, is also what the highest trained law enforcement personnel carry. The FBI/USSS/FAMS don't carry 10mm guns with G2 ammo; they carry Glock 19s with regular ol' Speer/Hornady/Fedearl as well. Ask yourself, what makes you more special than them?
                                You get it.

                                Judgment, reaction time and shot placement are infinitely more important than the shape, speed and construction of your projectile, assuming the projectile meets minimum requirements.
