Thats a really low price from what I can see.

I would entertain making her a reasonable offer on the whole lot. So PM me if shes interested in doing that.

Just heard that an East Bay gunshop (that I won't name, as I had no first person involvement) gave a woman an appraisal for a 1970's era Python. $100, due to holster wear. She passed on that, but did sell it to a friend of mine for $300. Probably would yield at least $2K on the open market.

I would buy the Browning A5. Maybe the Winchester I think its a model 61 pump .22. And I might be interested in the double barrels. Yeah, there is a lot of good stuff there. There are also a couple pump SGs that might be interesting.

sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.

Sorry about the pic size, but I don't know how to resize them.

I already suggested that she needs to get another appraisal ASAP. I'm not sure what relation the XO of the estate is to the widow, so I'm not sure of his/her intentions. A quick, easy sell or most $$ for the estate.

I have asked for more details on each item and will post as soon as I receive them.
Replying to what is bolded and underlined. Either option they choose (easy sell or most money) the value of that collection is more than what the appraiser told you. ESPECIALLY in todays climate - you're most likely going to see the high side of things.

Question? Wuts the light wood with long rod for? Kind of looks like a Tommy gun pistol grip?

That appraiser has his head up his a**. People are buying Glocks for $1500 so that collection is worth way more than $1300. Connect her with someone you trust that knows firearms and get her the deal she deserves.

I'm also willing to help. To keep myself viewed as honest, I will not buy anything. I'm more of a handgun guy anyway though my father's gun collection looks like that one.

Pick two of us, they meet there, take pics, get brands/models, and assess condition. Then report back to this thread. At that point you can post forsale ads and help get the widow the money she deserves.

My bet is $3K-$4K, but I'll admit there is some guesswork in that number.

Sorry for the ghosting. I had nothing to offer until I heard from my colleague.

Thank you for the PM offers to purchase the collection for the appraised value, but my colleague needs to get the most he can for his cousin's estate.
Besides, I would be first in line if he does decide to let this collection go at that price.

He sent me a copy of the appraisal from this "gun exchange". I intentionally removed the name of the business, because I see no reason to "out" them. I'm sure they felt they gave an honest and accurate appraisal.

A lot of those Ithicas and Winchester’s go for way more than listed.

Someone may chime in and give you a breakdown of that list.

Those listed prices are criminally low, unless the appraisal was done in 1965. Looks like a scam appraisal to later buy at those ridiculous prices.

                          Look into Rock Island auctions

I got a widow 2600 for a pistol no one would offer her 750 for

The problem is finding the buyers interested
