At a bare minimum get a professional involved. Give these folks a call. Known to be 100% honest and fair. They will provide an accurate appraisal.

I see 3 SxS shotguns in the pic. Those alone, if in decent shape, would be more than the appraisal value. Heck, I'd pay that sight unseen if no rust or cracked stock and if not off-face.

Middle picture gun on far left is a pump action Remington model 12. If that guns bore is good it's worth $200 all day long....those little guns are a hoot. Mine is from 1912....they were made up into the 30's I think off the top of my head.

Not sure if you have priced Model 12s and Winchester 1897s lately, but in decent shape and a good bore, they are averaging $700.00 - $800.00.

I haven't seen one go for less than $600 in a while, unless it was in poor shape or a parts-gun.

That's not an appraisal - that's a scam.

Just because some self-appointed know-it-all local gun-store schlep, or some limp-wristed fine-arts gallery owner comes in and spits out a price, doesn't mean either is qualified to appraise firearms.

One just wants a cut-throat steal to buy the lot, the other wouldn't know what in the hell he (or she) is looking at in the first place, but both claim they do.

Just to be clear, I really am asking for a friend. He reached out to me for help with the appraisal. Unfortunately, I did not have the pleasure of knowing his friend.

One thing to consider, is the executor's pricing for the return and tax purposes or for a selling guide? Could be undervalued to help with taxes. Agree if he is trying to buy for that amount it's a rip off.

So maybe 11 shotguns, 3 22's, 1 black powder, 2 bolt action long guns and at least one pistol out of at least 21 firearms - if the pistol is a firearm - mixed in with an airgun and a fishing rod.

The other guys have you on the right track. This isn't an offer to buy, in case that isn't allowed in this subforum, but absolutely seriously, I'd give $400 right now for the Marlin 336. Maybe up to 500 especially if it isn't a 30-30.
Then 5 guns to the right is a '50s or early '60s A5 that I would give 500 for.
