CADOJ/FBI background check for gun owners to weed those they are prohibited.
Get rid of the red flag laws to eliminate false flags/confiscation.
NFA/Suppressor use legal after background check with no limit to gun type or magazine capacity.
Heavy jail terms for any gun used in a crime.

As far as I'm concerned there has to be certain regulations in place to own a firearm. You shouldn't be able to say "the right to bear arms shall not be infringed" and leave it at that.
I only want US citizens with no serious criminal backgrounds owning guns. I don't want felons, the mentally ill, illegal immigrants or anyone on a terrorist watch list owning guns. If that means Cat Stevens can't own a gun then so be it. The only way to prevent these types of people from owning guns is some type of background check.
There also has to be an age limit. Eighteen years old at least but twenty-one would be better.

OP, I noticed in another thread that you asked if it were possible to buy a shotgun & a pistol within a month of each other. The answer was that yes, as long as it's not in City of Los Angeles or that one could be a PPT if the other is from store inventory.

So with such an arbitrary law like that, are you saying that we need more laws?

So if YOU could implement reasonable "common sense" gun laws, what would they be?

OP here's a few for you

1/ teach gun safety in pre-school

              2/ teach marksmanship in middle/highschool

3/ require every household to own at least one firearm and be proficient in its use.

I dreamed of owning a (insert off roster gun here)...

Oh yeah....then the earth splits open with me on one side and the (off roster gun) on the other. Then appeared a large red-glowing pit with gavin newscum, diane frankenstein and governor "brown the drain" at the bottom of it, waving their pitchforks at me.

If i was in charge of implementing common sense gun laws, I'd do away with most of the laws on the books, and start enforcing the other ones.

Don't even start with discussions about new gun laws. I see you joined a couple months ago. We've already been through this ad nauseum.

I prefer dangerous liberty over peaceful slavery - Thomas Jefferson

What that means to me is some people who shouldn't have guns will get them, but I prefer that over restricting someone from owning a gun who has the right to own one and to carry one.

Support? no...But there is nothing in the 2nd amendment that specifies who shouldn't be allowed firearms. Put the criminals in jail for the crimes they commit. Send the illegal aliens back to their country.

Chances are a lot of felons and illegals have firearms anyway.

Ex-felons who didn't commit a violent crime should be allowed to keep and bear arms. They paid for their crime and they should have the right to defend themselves and their family. If they went to prison for embezzlement and served their time, 2A is irrelevant. We don't take away a person's freedom of speech if they committed perjury; why should 2A be taken away?

Common sense gun law #1 - Democrats are prohibited from owning guns.
Common sense gun law #2 - Any legislature is prohibited from enacting gun laws.
