Driving a car is a privilege, owning a gun is a right..I am sure this has been discussed a million times. Just because you are a car enthusiast, doesn't mean you wouldn't support laws and regulations that keep the roads safe and minimise avoidable accidents, etc. it's where non drivers start spouting idiotic laws where problems start to occur. It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.
Happiness is a warm gun.

I would go full Singapore. When you go there you see the signage right away even before you step off the plane.

Suffice to say, they don't have big time drug issues like we do.
Maybe for crimes like robbery committed with the gun...you have the death penalty or mandatory XX years in prison with no chance of parole. Libs have the guts to be brutally tough and oppressive on law abiding gun owners, but are absolutely spineless when dealing with gun-toting criminals....I struggle to understand why. And don't get me started on their appeasement/encouragement of riots and turning a blind eye to violence against police and law abiding citizens. I know we have big discussions on the cost and true effectiveness of the death penalty...but that is our societal hangup.
The bottom line, is that strict penalties for criminal activity with guns is good for law abiding citizens. Case in point, the strictest gun control laws are doing squat in New York and Chicago where the weekly body count is at all time highs.Comment

Common sense to me is that non felon Ca residents should have no handgun roster, no mag capacity limit, and be allowed to own NFA items like sba and suppressor with appropriate federal tax stamps
Bad guys will illegally acquire illegally configured guns like they always have, and not nerfing the ability of good guys to choose their defensive weapons is common senseComment

Common sense gun law,
You use a gun in a crime, minimum 20 year additional sentence, no concurrent terms, consecutive.?The constitutional right to bear arms in public for self-defense is not a ?second-class right,? subject to an entirely different body of rules than the other Bill of Rights guarantees.? ?.. "We know of no other constitutional rights that an individual may exercise only after demonstrating to government officers some special need."

So, the one thing that still bugs me is the background check. How do we prevent those who are criminals from obtaining guns if we do away with that?Let us not pray to be sheltered from dangers but to be fearless when facing them. - Rabindranath Tagore

Remember those old hippies in Marin that got busted for growing weed and had an old .22 and a 12 gauge in the closet? They got charged with having a gun during the commission of a crime, and that crime extended over the whole growing season. So, giving the Gov MORE power to ratf**k people is never the answer.Comment

Law abiding folk that shoot criminals dead in the act are awarded tax breaks and exemptions from prosecution. Soon crime rates will plummet.Comment
