My thoughts exactly. If you think think this is bad, try finding a good hunting spot.

Reminds me a lot of when I was a kid and no one wanted to give away there secret skate or BMX spot.

Then what is the point for this forum to exist?

Can someone at least tell me if there is any BLM range nearby to the Bay Area (not exact locations)? If it is a Socal thing, then I am not interested.

Anybody can find my spot the same way I did, scout it out on a map and in person.

The only people I'd invite there are those that I trust.

I do not trust the vast majority of Calgunners.

I've seen too many videos and pictures of people shooting up monitors, televisions, and other stuff that leaves a huge mess. I have not seen videos of them cleaning it up.

Most people who will actually go through the legwork to find their own sites will also keep them clean.

If you don't like it, well, I really don't give a rats behind anyway!
Alot isn't a word and allot isn't the word you think it is.

I'd really like a Colt 1903 frame, bad finish okay!
I'm also looking for a good deal on a 1911 frame or two for budget/spare parts builds.

You can order maps from the BLM office:

          (916) 978-4400

Costs $4 a map, pick out a few locations near you and start scouting.

I will admit to be the first one to step up and say PLEASE clean up after yourselves, and yes, I am also reluctant to share sites with the general public, but by no means is this information "top secret" and inaccessible.

Sorry, but too many shooting sites have already been shut down (Colfax, Spenceville are the two that I'm personally aware of) because of poor upkeep by people who use the sites. I'm not interested in seeing any more of this happen. This is why I *personally* am involved in organizing range cleanups. I've been involved for the past 3 years so far and plan on keeping this tradition going forward.

Now, if you really are motivated, it's not all that hard to find out where to shoot by simply reading Calguns. Call it rude, but please don't expect everyone to come forward and hand this over on a silver platter. I hope you understand our concerns.

Sorry But so far Spenceville is still open, but it has gotten Fairly crazy there, since Colfax was shut down, whenever I go there I always take my garbage out, and try to take more when I can, there is a BLM guy that comes in the mornings and cleans up, to a point, I try to go only during the week and early in the morning, (less People)

and BLM stands for ( Bureau of Land Managment)
be safe and have fun guys.

Some area's allow you to HUNT....but NOT target shoot. Or they have designated target shooting area's.

And if you do go use that land...pack out you targets, trash, etc. with you. Or you might go back and find the area closed to shooting due to people leaving trash all over the place.

Let me relate my experience from sharing spots to hunt and shoot on BLM land. Took a friend Chukar hunting to a real nice spot I found, good population of birds, and not too far from a road. Had a great hunt, both of us limited on birds, like I always had.

Well, I found out this friend, went back to the spot I showed him, and he brought friends. This must have happened many times with other friends bringing their friends because, the last time I went there, no birds, and ran into at least four guys hunting that same spot.

Some of you will say, that's coincidence. I'll tell you it's not. I have hunted that same spot for over three seasons, and never saw another hunter on that exact hill. If you were to see how large of an area I am talking about, and the remoteness of it, you would understand.

Now, other than a very general mention, I do not reveal specifics, because I don't need the areas that took me, alot of time and effort to find, over hunted and ruined by others who simply don't care if they kill every bird in sight. If the areas I hunt start to get low population, I move on and let them re-poulate, not hunt them tell there are no birds.

Now, the only people I take with me, are my boys because they know not to tell there friends and take them there.

People should not get offended when others don't want to share places to shoot. Put in the time and effort, to find your own, and you will start to feel the same. If you decide to share, all the more power to you.
