im sorry, maybe i wasnt being specific. all i wanted was to know an area of BLM land that allowed you to drive on and shoot, not exact GPS coordinates of your shooting spot. there has been a few of you that have been helpful and i thank you, as it will cut my scouting time in half. i have already been to the BLM office in hollister and paid the $4 for the maps which only supply limited info.

please rest assured that i am an avid backpacker and outdoors man and know the importance of a clean environment, as such i always pack out more then i take in.

again thank you for those of you that helped i will be pulling out my maps for panoche hills

Can someone at least tell me if there is any BLM range nearby to the Bay Area (not exact locations)? If it is a Socal thing, then I am not interested.
I'm going to reply to your message, but this message is for all the guys throwing up their arms expecting information to be gift wrapped and given to them like it's Christmas.

Guess what. The information you're asking for IS HERE on Calguns. It's much closer than you think.

Big hint: Look at my .sig line, click on the link, and begin your journey.

If you think we're actually effectively withholding information, then I'm going to say what this poster just said - "Then why does this forum exist?" So many of us have talked about BLM land over and over on this very board.

Dig into it - don't be lazy, guys - the info is there.

And, I'm going to close with my famous request - PLEASE clean up more than you bring in, and help us keep our BLM spots open and free.

I'm interested in somewhere I can target shoot on BLM land, the closer to Lancaster the better.

If anyone sould kindly pm me suggested locations, I promise that I am a responsible person who won't leave trash behind (except, perhaps, the odd shredded watermelon) and won't invite lots of people (maybe my brother in law, but he only shoots with me, less than once a year at that, and his firearms live in my safe). Definitely won't take students there.

It is one thing looking at a map and saying "Oh yes, that's BLM land" but it could take me a lot of on the ground searching to find a spot that's free of housing and with a safe backdrop - especially in the flatness of the Mojave.

Have shot at Desert Marksmen and at "A Place To Shoot," but I'd like to just get out in the desert on my own.
