A lot of people don't like to reveal their BLM spots. Paranoia is rampant here, you'll discover.

          People like me.

I will not reveal any of my shooting locations unless I've shot with you or know you *real* well.

I don't want my shooting spots trashed by mouthbreathers who take their trash out, shoot it, and leave it.
Alot isn't a word and allot isn't the word you think it is.

I'd really like a Colt 1903 frame, bad finish okay!
I'm also looking for a good deal on a 1911 frame or two for budget/spare parts builds.

Nice to see everyone coming together and sharing the love of our sport and shooting locations.

Hoarding not only ammo, but geographic locations. Sad.

How do you "hoard" a location that is available to everyone?

You guys have got to be kidding me.

There are threads upon threads covering where to shoot on BLM land around CA. You think we're hoarding the locations?

I will admit to be the first one to step up and say PLEASE clean up after yourselves, and yes, I am also reluctant to share sites with the general public, but by no means is this information "top secret" and inaccessible.

Sorry, but too many shooting sites have already been shut down (Colfax, Spenceville are the two that I'm personally aware of) because of poor upkeep by people who use the sites. I'm not interested in seeing any more of this happen. This is why I *personally* am involved in organizing range cleanups. I've been involved for the past 3 years so far and plan on keeping this tradition going forward.

Now, if you really are motivated, it's not all that hard to find out where to shoot by simply reading Calguns. Call it rude, but please don't expect everyone to come forward and hand this over on a silver platter. I hope you understand our concerns.

Because not everyone knows where these places are. People protect public locations as if it's their own house!

Your concerns are ill founded, because even if a member of the non-general public (whatever that means in the context of a public forum!) were to go on a group shoot, he could very well return at his leisure to dump the area.

The fact that it is public means it's absolutely stupid to try to protect it from would be abusers.

The root of all of this is paranoia and undue suspicion of the fellow Calgunner.

Right. Posting locations on the internet not only gets read by members, but by lurkers, and anti-gun LEOs.

How about people's hunting locations as well? Darn those people who take the time to scout places out, only to be given to other members who feel entitled to spots given on a silver platter.

                            Right...

Again, paranoia. So your worry is some LEOs will have nothing better to do than troll internet boards to find locations to some god forsaken parts of the desert and then set up stings and wait long enough for people with black rifles to show up so that they can harrass them??

CalGuns and other forums are all about sharing. If you don't want to share, why are you here? On motorcycle boards, for example, people share roads, even though it will take only a couple of jackasses to get themselves killed and get even more attention on a particular stretch of road.

                              It's ridiculous.
