In this climate, if you are a 2A supporter, conservative, and male, you have a target on your back. I have learned to keep quiet and not voice my political views at work. We are in a time where anyone can become triggered for any reason and there goes your livelihood.

They can't fire you for what you think, but they can make your life miserable for what you say.

This is so very true. I'm on a self imposed STFU. I say nothing to my co-workers due to the fact that I can not trust them at all. Go to work, do job, go home.

I was fired for my boss dealing heroin in the work place. He accused me of ratting him to corporate. I didn't but he thought I did so he started to write me up for all kinds of nonsense in order to show HR I was a bad employee.

I would not start any legal action. Your employment with that company or any company into the future would be at risk. Oh yeah, there are ways to get at prospective employees. Companies say they don't but they do.

You missed the hint last year that someone in (head of?) HR ain't down with your bi'ness. This is your second, and assume last, hint. Find something, saddle up and get (git) before its a reference you can't use. G/L.

PS- the whole "sue them" notion gets tossed out often, but the reality is hardly anyone sues, let alone wins enough to be worthwhile unless the employer did some serious/egregious action. Easy litmus test- see if even one very good labor attorney even looks up as you tell the story.

Good for you. How many wrongful termination or discrimination in the workplace cases have you litigated? That section exists to prevent an employer from mandating support or contributions to a political candidate. How does telling an employee not to discuss guns in the workplace, or taking down a BLM critical video, do any of that?
