$75 to put sights on a Glock...

I just got new sites for my Glock and called around to different gun stores around Los Angeles. Most of the places I called didn’t answer the one that did called Modern Warriors Gunsmithing which wanted to charge me $75 to install the sights for my glock 22...I mean I could buy my own sight pusher for that...This can’t be the standard price…Right?

It’s not. Buy the pusher. You’ll save in the long run. Just prep.

Applied Kinetics in Fullerton charges $25-30. I’ve had them do some for my shield and Kahr. No Glocks but I’d expect the same as Glocks are easier.

I've never done it , but it looks like its one of the easiest things to do. Just unscrew the front and tap out the back. Tons of YouTube vids.

By the 7th or 8th video you will think you've done it 100times

Just use a plastic punch for the rear. I bought a pusher on Amazon for $40 and replace many on the Glocks. Paid for itself. Just tape it up and go.

              No problem!

                Fronts are usually easy.
Rear sight can require fitting, especially with night sights where you don't want to hit them too hard.

I picked up a barely used G27 for cheap, the previous owner could not get the rear night sight on more than about half way.
I had to hand file a deeper cut into the sight base dovetail to get it to fit.
Then I touched up the filed area with cold blue before doing the final install.
It's not always a five minute job.

When my friend did the sights (Dawson) on my G17, he used a sight pusher. The rear fit nicely, but it was a very tight fit. The front was easy-peasy, but I'll offer a couple of tips.
                      • That tiny screw won't take a lot of torque, so be careful not to over-tighten it.
                      • Use a small drop of Blue Loctite on the screw.

                      -P
? "If you want nice fresh oats, you have to pay a fair price. If you are satisfied with oats that have already been through the horse, well, that comes a little cheaper."

$75 is really high. Riflegear charges $35 as advertised on their site. I just had TTI fiber optic sights installed by bolsa gunsmithing for $45.

I installed my rear glock site with a rubber mallet after I uninstalled my sight channel red dot.
Idk about the front site though, havent ever done it.

I think $75 is a , "I don't really want to be bothered with installing sights on a Glock but for $75 it'll be worth my time" type of price.
