I just came back this week on US 40 from Arizona with 2 cases of 12 ga. that I took to Utah and brought back. The officer just waved me through.aside from the sac state professor who stalks the cabelas in Reno......has anyone ever been pulled over and searched and been detained and convicted of transporting more then 50 rounds of ammo back into the state? If so, how did the officer know? All ag checks usually just waive your through......
I am also curious if anyone has been detained.
There were a few folks from Sacramento buying thousands of dollars worth of fireworks when I stopped in Wyoming. They seemed to be very confident that they weren't going to have any issues hauling a pallet-load back across the border.Comment

Plenty of ammo in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado and New Mexico. I just did the tour over the last two weeks.
This is all hypothetical, as the current National situation makes it moot, as there is no ammo in stores across the country.
But, pay cash, leave bags and receipts at the out of state LGS, and preferably, transfer to generic plastic containers, like the one from Dillon, especially, they are old and scuffed.
Getting 22lr is gonna suck.Comment

Winner! Winner! Chicken Dinner! That is exactly what I do! I can also do FSC cards and if I wanted I could do ammo sales as well. Just being able to still buy ammo by mail is reward enough for me.
In general when dealing with police, where you are under suspicion, just keep your mouth shut! They have the burden of proof, not you.I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...
